DDs birthday is coming up. She's going to be 19.

She's asked for a CD player. What 1 iconic album should I get?

I'm thinking Jagged Little Pill or What's the story?

What would you get?

FoFanta · 27/06/2025 06:44

What music does she like? Some great suggestions already, but I think something that was recorded that was intended to be played in vinyl such as anything by Pink Floyd, or the Beach Boys or even something like War of the Worlds would be a great start to her collection.

Kevinbaconsrealwife · 27/06/2025 06:45

Discography by the Pet Shop Boys.

worrisomeasset · 27/06/2025 06:45

It’s interesting that she’s asked for a CD player. I’ve heard of young folks asking for vinyl record players (I bought DS one years ago) but never CD players. We’ve always been told that CDs don’t have the same cachet as vinyl. Is this the start of the CD revival?

The White Album

Globules · 27/06/2025 07:44

It surprised me too @worrisomeasset

I think she sees the vinyl revival as being for middle aged people.

You've all given me more to think about now. Such great suggestions!

How could I forget about Lauren hill or Amy?!
