DDs birthday is coming up. She's going to be 19.

She's asked for a CD player. What 1 iconic album should I get?

I'm thinking Jagged Little Pill or What's the story?

What would you get?

Classic is older?

Ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars

David Bowie low

David Bowie young americans

Sargent pepper

Dark side of the moon if nothing else get her this it's so unique

Blonde parrell lines

And has to be a rolling stones album in there... Perhaps sticky fingers or the one with sweet Virginia on it

Station to Station is IMO the BEST Bowie album ❤️ but there is not a mediocre one is there really

The day my middle child was born was the day the Mercury Music Prize for that year - 2006 - was announced and we bought her a copy of that. In her case it was “Whatever t People Say I Am That Is What I’m Not” by The Arctic Monkeys. She’s not a fan but she is definitely into heavy music

DeathMetalMum · 27/06/2025 21:29

The Libertines by The Libertines I adored that album when I was her age.

Lots of other fantastic suggestions here though. I think you need go buy her more than one.

Both my children will one day be gifted the CD single and the fiction paperback that was number 1 the day they were born, along with The Times newspaper.
