DDs birthday is coming up. She's going to be 19.

She's asked for a CD player. What 1 iconic album should I get?

I'm thinking Jagged Little Pill or What's the story?

What would you get?

Some absolute cracking classics have already been listed but I’d like to throw in Def Leppards Hysteria Album ( most people might disagree 😂 but to me it’s a fantastic album and one if not the best they’ve done)

thismummyslife · 27/06/2025 23:54

Thought the same thing -Alanis Morrisette

JaninaDuszejko · 27/06/2025 23:57

I really don't think a 19 yo would want an album from the 70s. I was born in the 70s, that would be the equivalent to my Mum getting me 'Glenn Miller's Greatest Hits' on my 19th birthday.

Came to say this

For a 19 year old girl, Jagged Little Pill, hands down. It came to mind before I even saw you'd suggested it yourself in your OP.

And just to add she was amazing at Glastonbury today, still sounds so current and relevant - to my 50 year old ears anyway 🤣
