FWIW the French tend to better coordinated than the UK on this sort of thing (special apps for your phone.when travelling etc), and the last I heard in a statement end of last week was the advice for nationals was to try and make a suitable land border by approved routes or shelter in place and stay.in touch with the Embassy.

I've not seen much French news last day or two so I may be out of date but I'm not sure even they have managed a mass coordinated evacuation.

Oh FGS, there is no disparity 🙄 Any British citizen in Iran has traveled there against FCO advice, and will have been told they will be without consular assistance etc. It’s inordinately difficult for a UK passport holder to get a visa to enter Iran so they will all be dual UK/Iranian nationals (as is my DH fwiw - but luckily he is not daft enough to travel to Iran in the current climate). The same difficulties do not arise for every nationality - the regime reserves a special disdain for the U.K. which no amount of vacillating by Lammy or the supine Starmer will shift. Those being repatriated to other countries likely include citizens legitimately in Iran on tourist visas who haven’t traveled against advice.

Yes of course we should get the dual passport holders out, but the howls of rage and disparity with Israel are ridiculous imo.

I thought he was trying to de escalate tensions . Very disappointed in him if he says we are backing Israel. We don’t want a war and I don’t agree with what Israel is doing. Trying to avoid the news at the moment . A local news outlet on Facebook keeps running articles suggesting world war 3 , best places to be during nuclear bomb. I think they have lost the plot .
