I can’t believe I’m not seeing more threads on this. Starmer back israel against Iran. Other Muslim countries are supporting Iran.

The US warplanes refuelled in the U.K. last night. We have been dragged into it already.

Which US warplanes?

Which US warplanes?

It was probably Shannon Airport in Ireland, the usual spot, fucking disgraceful.

Again, which US aircraft are people on about?
..

justasking111 · 22/06/2025 10:51

There will be attempted reprisals. I'm old enough to remember the IRA, we're not neutral by a long shot. We're meddlers.

This is awful.

southerngirl10 · 22/06/2025 11:00

What our 4 million muslims going to think, plus the boatloads already coming here everyday.

MushMonster · 22/06/2025 11:01

justasking111 · 22/06/2025 10:32

What do you base that on?

We have not helped US yet, so we are not into it.
Why are you doubting it?

Pomodorini · 22/06/2025 11:04

The UK government is organising repatriation flights for UK nationals next week.

Putting it politely talk of the B-2s refueling in the UK is also almost certainly incorrect (similar with the idea .of them staging through Shannon.)...

Still, what's the sayiing "a lie gets half way around theworld before the truth can get it's pants on"

MushMonster · 22/06/2025 11:07

I have not seen anything in the news about refuelling.
But specifically that US did not use UK Pacific base. They did not even ask.
And we have not shot anything or assisted directly. So far, we are not into it.
And I am rather happy abput it, so I am going to hold onto it while there are no strikes.

This is a major concern that we have unvetted people coming in on boats everyday, from many places including Iran. It could get ulgy here.

That is good.
There are lots of people on holiday, plus those who live in the area.
How many countries they do evacuate people from will give us a clue of what they are expecting to happen.

Wonder if any of the Voyagers based at Brize are going to be roped in to assist with that???

MushMonster · 22/06/2025 11:16

My heart goes to all our military personnel suffering under all this insecurity, particularly those in the Middle East. And their families.

UK business secretary Jonathan Reynolds has said the British government was aware of the US’ plans to launch airstrikes on Iran, but did not take part.

Speaking to the broadcaster Sky News on Sunday morning, he said the UK did not get a request by the US to use its Diego Garcia base in the Indian Ocean.

I’m not sure why you have quoted me here?

I’m not sure either, apologies.

Which US warplanes?

The ones that were sent over. It was on Sky News about 12.30am this morning. They stopped over at a military base in East Anglia. There were diagrams.

IfUcantsayanythingnice · 22/06/2025 11:59

USA planes have been flying over all week. I’ve been watching their routes on FlightRadar24. A number of them stopped off near Seville in Spain.

MushMonster · 22/06/2025 12:06

We will always get intense military plane traffic during a war. We do have agreements and bases, so we cannot just say no to flying over.
Spain used to have two US bases. And I think they are still there, fully active. You cannot prevent a country using its own bases, as far as I know?
At least there is a high risk of your country becoming a target? At which point I suppose they will have to further negotiate the use of the bases.

By "the ones that were sent over" are you referring to the B-2s themselves or something else.

The USAF have used B-2s in the past for long range raids from the States, to places like Afghanistan, out and back, one flight using air to air refuelling, but always going trans-pacific/trans Indian ocean, staying in international airspace and well offshore long as possible.

I don't have Sky but reports I've heard so far suggests to me last nights raid was either another out and back from their US base or via the US base on Guam.

What the supporting USAF tanker force did is another matter.

The mission flight originated in the US and refueled in the air. There are so many USAF tankers in Europe currently they could have taken off from many locations. Tankers could also have been flown directly from the US.

The flight to Guam was a faint.

Where B-2 stealth bombers' mission to strike Iran started in the U.S.

U.S. Air Force B-2 stealth bombers deployed in the attack against Iran nuclear facilities, confirmed by President Donald Trump on June 21.

israel attacked iran btw

notimagain · 22/06/2025 12:47

@MissConductUS

Yep, the stories doing the rounds yesterday of a B-2 deployment to Guam does look like an attempt to use Social Media and also spotters and flightradar fans (innocently) to throw journalists off the scent.

It was certainly handy cover for the reported wave of Westbound departures out of Whiteman and associated tanker bases earlyish yesterday.

It could if they're pro Iranian.
