The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

I read both and here can definitely get nasty. I only scan a few threads in there and don’t see nastiness between posters, I follow the celebrity gossip pages and some TikTok ones.

Influencing shouldn’t be a job. Tattle does God’s work, as far as I am concerned. They were the site to unmask all the undeclared ads years ago

And yes, I know one in real life. She’s sold her kids childhood for free shite. Vile, and I hope all these poor kids sue their parents in years to come.

Tattle is brilliant. It’s not a hate site at all. People here are worse. The forums I frequent are doing our best to stop awful family vloggers from exploiting their own children and vulnerable fans, nothing hateful about that. Also telling the truth about someone does not make you a “troll”.

I like Tattle. It can seem quite shocking as it’s not as restrictively moderated as MN, but any threads I look at are largely unremarkable. They are so good at calling out the bullshit of TikTokers, and some influencers. They also take the piss out of MN threads, and it’s usually justified.

Sometimes it can cross a line and reduce itself to nasty bitching. I once got a telling off from the mods for posting positively about an influencer 😂 But on the whole, it’s refreshingly honest.

I quite enjoyed reading tattle, especially the section about malingerers on tiktok. They give the rest of us a bad reputation, and that’s one of the reason my content is not purely disability based. I don’t want to be associated with people faking their disabilities or making them out to be worse than they actually are, or even worse using their disabled kids for views. These people absolutely need calling out.

I disagree. There is a lot of basically nasty stuff there.

I'd never even heard of that web site til you mentioned it. Had a 30 second look. just looks like people discussing public figures to me. Same as happens on MN and anywhere else in life.

I think that’s very true. I’m not a member of Tattle but I read a number of threads regularly, and I always think that there are some very funny and astute posters, particularly the posters on the Mumsnet threads😆

Tattle’s is: it’s whole reason for existing is to tear people down, which is a bit unpleasant.

That said I don’t mind some of the stuff calling out bull shit but many threads go way, way too far.

I really don't see Tattle as a "hate site" - it's a bit robust sometimes but generally the people they focus on are pretty grotesque. I read Katie Price, Jack monroe, L1z Fr4ser (faffed about with for tact), alice evans, Liz jones and Conor Mcgregor, every single one of whom deserves the opprobrium they receive. .

I see some influencers I follow posting that tattle users will be "outed" when their details are handed over.

Tattle doesn't concern me as I don't use it, but I'd worry it would set a precedent for the likes on MN and other forums where people post anonymously.

People post on her often in their darkest hours, under a pseudonym, it seems to be similar on tattle life. (Anonymous I mean)

How would this work for every other anonymous website if the names/details of posters are handed over? And is there potential for other websites to follow suit?

I actually found this an interesting take, there is some truth in it. I do, however, find that there is something really unwell with the way people obsess and bitch over some of the influencers etc and think it’s a weird thing to bond over. Bonding over a mutual hatred of a celeb seems sick.
