BeardofHagrid · 13/06/2025 18:18

The owner of hate forum Tattle Life has today been legally named as Sebastian Bond. He also goes by the alias Bastian Durward. He has tried to flee to Asia to avoid paying his legal costs.

If you want an example of how disgusting it is, check out the Katie Price thread. It’s full of nasty posts about her kids, including Harvey!

KP is obviously no angel, but her children are totally off-limits; they never asked to be (in)famous! How could any adult justify laughing at a disabled kid who can’t defend themselves?

I completely disagree with this. I go on that thread and mostly people are sticking up for Harvey and how he is used and abused by KP for likes. She treats him appallingly. She feeds him a load of crap and then says she doesnt know why he is the size he is. A whole bag of mini Kievs and a whole bag of oven chips for a meal! She also has given him a whole cake to eat in one sitting.

People are concerned with what she is doing to him, he is a vulnerable adult with seemingly no one to look out for him as his "mother" just monetises him over and over again.

I have never seen anyone being cruel to Harvey, only people wanting him to be taken out of the public eye when he doesnt actually give consent to being plastered all over the Internet and media by her.

DundeeCake58 · 14/06/2025 06:51

They also take the piss out of MN threads, and it’s usually justified

There was absolutely nothing justifiable about claiming my cousin was lying about her daughter dying.

But it was a very clear indication that those involved in the thread were the dregs of society, who had no qualms about making themselves look like even bigger idiots the longer the thread went on rather than backdown and accept they were fools who’d got it wrong. They’re not very intelligent people who think stupidity and crassness is a good look.

witwatwoo · 14/06/2025 06:54

I’ve always found MN to be much nastier than tattle. I read it but I don’t comment.

Brogues · 13/06/2025 20:24

I’ll happily name myself. I have nothing to be ashamed about here or there. Some people on the site are vile. Lots here are just as vile. Mumsnet is not the place you think it is if you think everyone is genuine here.

Go on then…

idonethisthing · 13/06/2025 20:31

If he hasn’t said anything directly, there’s no legal action they can take surely? There are much worse forums out there. They’ll have to chase the individual posters for their libellous comments. He’s not guilty of opinion.

He guilty of a lot, which is why they won the case. Not sure why you’re defending him. Only a vile person creates and maintains just a cesspit for profit

cursedsleep · 14/06/2025 07:06

On my first foray into Tattle I found active, popular threads absolutely ripping apart a 16 or 17 year old girl (study vlogger sharing O and A level tips, a bit too goody two shoes for me, but a perfectly sweet and earnest girl - she later on failed to get into Oxbridge and was really transparent and heartfelt about it, and continued to share her journey).

Really sad and shameful of a bunch of grown women, taking out their own lives' failures and their insecurity about their own children on that little girl. Pathetic.

MN is not exactly nice but I'm sure people here are more normal and less basement-dweller-scum than that.

This. Plus they are very concerned about her animals that have disappeared . No one else queried why 15-20 animals had been purchased, then completely vanished on her watch.

MrTumbleweed · 14/06/2025 00:06

It’s interesting, I’d say posters on Tattle are meaner about public figures / influencers but actually very kind and supportive on personal posts and posters on Mumsnet are often the opposite, generally quite measured about people in the public eye and often cold and callous as fuck to individual posters.

Obviously, neither of those are ideal.

This!

I’ve seen three threads this week alone where hundreds of posters are telling women they should have an abortion when they didn’t even mention that being something they might want!

Absolutely disgusting.

RareTurquoise · 14/06/2025 07:09

Hopefully, eventually. Means a lot of people will need to get a hobby. Absolute low lives who are so miserable with themselves they pathetically try to make themselves feel better by dragging others down, under the guise of exposing influencers. It’s bullying, harassment, stalking, obsession, hate speech etc. If your concerned for someone’s safety file a police report, if you don’t like them unfollow them, I agree lots of children will grow up very resentful for their parents posting so much of them, lots of others won’t, that’s for those families to deal with and have to face. Hopefully in years to come there will be laws in place to protect children far more, but regardless of all of that, it does not justify that site or the people that post the cruelty. They need to go to therapy, hopefully the site will get closed and then they’ll all have soo much time for the therapy appointments. The site is not about free speech, it often doesn’t allow the defending of others or positing positives, it’s inciting hate and harassment. The people who use or defend it need to get off their high horse, do a lot of reflection and focus on improving themselves.

Bluebellwood129 · 14/06/2025 07:21

ThisOchreScroller · 13/06/2025 23:39

I am not a member but I do read and I think there needs to be somewhere to discuss the absolute bullshit that some influencers peddle as real life. Most of the stuff would just move to Reddit if not on there.

Make no mistake though - people can and do give hints as to people's addresses. "3 bed new build bungalow in X village for £380k" is enough!

And some of the posters are not what they seem. I know one who is pretending to be in hospital with breast cancer and she is not ill, does not have the number of children she says she does and has posed as critically ill on at least 2 other forums.

How can you know if anything posted anonymously on forums is true though. I'm sure lots of posters change details of their lives to avoid being recognised and others lie to create a fantasy lifestyle. This forum is full of people spouting rubbish and giving themselves away in all kinds of ways.

DrAmanitaPhalloides · 14/06/2025 07:21

Yes owners of sites should be liable - hope Justine will be taken to court for allowing Mumsnet to be used to post images of child sexual abuse, as even sharing images is illegal. That is by far more awful and traumatic than anything on tattle ever.

TorroFerney · 14/06/2025 07:22

PonyPatter44 · 13/06/2025 21:46

I really don't see Tattle as a "hate site" - it's a bit robust sometimes but generally the people they focus on are pretty grotesque. I read Katie Price, Jack monroe, L1z Fr4ser (faffed about with for tact), alice evans, Liz jones and Conor Mcgregor, every single one of whom deserves the opprobrium they receive. .

that may be a new word for me, opprobrium so thank you. A new word before half seven on a Saturday is a good start to the day.

The ridiculous thing is, they go on about their concern for influencers children then they obsessively post about those children. Where they work, the hobbies they do, the school/college they go to, their address.

They are the ones exposing this on the Internet when they have sleuthed enough to work it out, or sometimes because they live near them. They are the ones compromising their safety. Allan from half way down the country wouldnt have known otherwise.

They also then rip the children apart for being brats or anything else they fancy and give them disgusting nicknames. It's a load of pish, you aren't concerned about any child's wellbeing, you're obsessive stalkers, simple as.

Slightly amused that the myth of Tattle posters being wonderfully supportive to one another is still going. Yes, they are, as long as you’re in agreement with them!

Everyone on tattle is only being mean about people who post their lives in public

they users are mostly very nice to each other

unlike this site where people are vile and nasty to other users.

Did you see the post on tattle about a woman here who posted about her daughter dying in hospital? She posted for support, not publicity or financial benefit. The things said on tattle snout the post were absolutely vile and disgusting. People took it on themselves to try to prove it was lies. They considers themselves vindicated when they sound that she had asked for donations - on a site about her daughters funeral - to an NHS intensive care ward.that was proof to them that it had all been made up - to raise money for the NHs, apparently. They are crackers.

To be fair that thread did have holes in it you could drive a truck through.

No, I've had plenty of disagreements on there and it's always been civil and absolutely fine. Never been called ugly, a cunt or a moron or been accused of lying about having children because I'm so reprehensible. To be fair, I don't participate in the influencer or politics threads, but I've been called all sorts on here for reclining my seat on a plane, being against hitting children and having occasional Botox.

The mods are VERY quick to act on Tattle and it's pretty much a closed shop now.

Lol let's not 🙄 what a sad joke to automatically blame the other gender for your own gender's bad behaviour. The other thing I find hilarious about MN is the number of posters convinced that YOU MUST BE A MAN. How do these Mumsnetters even survive real life, so wild and scary with all these men lurking in the shadows in skirts? 😂

Yes, I'm sure on Tattle the truckloads of vicious grown women were all just men pretending to be deeply invested in chores and children's education.

And they also bound and gagged all the poor defenseless women so no woman could physically participate in the thread to speak out against the gaggle of gender imposters bullying a little girl.

Bonding over a mutual hatred of a celeb seems sick.

Is it any different to bonding over a mutual
love of a celeb? I mean I think hating or loving a celeb are both obsessions that can be unhealthy.

Yeah I do think it’s worse. At least if someone loves a celeb or what they produce, then it makes sense that they’re watching it. Whereas people despising a youtube influencer, yet watching every single video they put out in order to rip it apart doesn’t seem well like I said. Then need to do something they enjoy instead of what they hate.

You need to calm down! I have no idea of the thread you’re talking about and who commented. I’m saying, there’s plenty of men on Tattle. Whilst I don’t have an account, I do read certain threads. So don’t you spout your ‘women are so bitchy’ misogyny at me!

Same - I used to post on Tattle regularly although deleted my account maybe 4 years ago now. I do still browse it and I have to say it’s got a lot lot meaner than it used to be.

Some posts on MN can be really awful but it’s in a different way I guess.

How so? Being awful to someone is being awful to them, regardless of the platform. Sometimes it's harder to stomach on here when someone posts desperate for advice and just gets a pile on of bitchey PA-ness because some users are horrified that the OP spelt something wrong or deem them to be too poor/stupid to be worth helping so stick the boot in repeatedly instead.
