Which songs are way better than the originals (in your opinion, of course!)

I LOVE Boys Town Gang version of Can't Take My Eyes (one of my favourite songs) but no one else seems to know it.
The official video is absolutely amazing 🤣
God bless the 80s!

Seals and Crofts - Summer Breeze
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Kim Wilde - You Just Keep Me Hangin’ On
and, horrifyingly, Take That - Could It Be Magic

Edited

Seals and Croft wrote and performed the original Summer Breeze! The Isley Brothers then covered it.

Off to listen to the Judas Priest version of Diamonds and Rust…

@GoldThumb Yes, also Leona. In fact it is such a beautiful song that it lends to many different kinds of voices.
Leona is such a beautiful singer - her version of Snow Patrol's Run is wonderful.
Way too early I know, sorry, but her Dec 25th song One more sleep is one of my most favourite of the seasonals.
Anyhoo ...
Back to covers - love Sir tom's cover of Leonard Cohen's Tower of song.

The Pet Shop boys of Always on my mind is one of my all time favourites.

Disturbed’s cover of The Sound of Silence is an utter abomination which I hate with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. On the other hand, EBTG’s version of The Only Living Boy in New York is rather good; I wouldn’t say it’s better than the original, but at least it’s thoughtful and respectful. And unlike Disturbed, it’s not sung with all the subtlety of a bellowing bullock stuck in a barbed wire fence.
