Home Alone 2 was so much better than Home Alone 1...

What's yours?

Films that are shite:

All Richard Curtis films - Notting Hill, 4 Weddings, Love Actually - all painfully butt clenchingly contrived and self conscious. I always fell they’re ’in crowd’ movies and I’m not invited to the party.

All the Bridget Jones movies - Rene Zelwegger is woefully miscast for the Bridget in the books, and it should have been someone much more clever, funny, and feisty - someone like Kate Winslett, Cameron Diaz, or Sandra Bullock would have been better. Bridget was supposed to be a journalist with something about her, not a hapless pathetic halfwit. She was supposed to be madcap, not drippy. I loved the books - they were laugh out loud funny. The movies were such a let down.

Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies are ‘walk a bit and have a fight. Repeat forever’.

Movies that are good:

Marvel movies are brilliant when you want to switch off and just enjoy a fantastical few hours, and are far superior to DC movies.

“Brief Encounter” is a heap of rubbish.

I’m not a film fan so haven’t seen a lot of the ones mentioned in this thread.

”The Impossible” is self indulgent and pathetic

Alec in brief encounter was a terrible husband and all round shit person. Laura should have had more fucking sense than to entertain him at all

Alec is a git, but his full gittiness only becomes apparent towards the end of the film when he announces his decision to move to South Africa. In a fortnight. With his wife and child. He has not mentioned this to his wife yet. I would have liked to see a sequel in which he announces the South Africa plan to his wife and she tells him 'not bloody likely, mate'.

All of the Lord of the rings films were about 45 minutes too long.

Only 45 minutes?
