Home Alone 2 was so much better than Home Alone 1...

What's yours?

Sex and the City 1 was brilliant, drama, great storyline. 2 was like a comedy show, poor

Second film was cringe. I’m embarrassed by it. Just everything about it I hated.

The Phantom Menace was quite good (goes into hiding)

The Faculty is an amazing movie.

Omg The Faculty! Josh Harnett was my teen crush. But I watched it when I was like 13 and wanted to become a drug dealer and sell them pens with the drugs at the bottom because of this film 🤣

Catinthereallysmallhat · 02/06/2025 01:22

I loved Harry Potter as a kid but Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are terrible actors.

Indeed. So hot 😍 Did you know she was seeing the Russian guy, Ivan Drago character from Rocky? Who was like some kind of chemical engineer with numerous degrees, very very clever. Apologises if you knew that but Rocky was before my time and only found that out like last year 🤣

I’m older than you are, I remember Rocky 4 coming out. When Rocky 5 came out my younger brother wanted to listen to The Eye Of The Tiger one evening but we didn’t have a copy of the song so we called a local radio station to ask if a dj would play it and let us know what time they’d play it so we could record it. We waited in with the radio on all evening but they didn’t play it 🤣

Dolph Lundgren. I had a poster of him on my wall 😍

Grease is utter shite.

And Roger Moore is the only actor to have made Bond films watchable.

Weird! My Bonds in order are Brosnan, Connery, Craig, Dalton, Moore, [the other one is not included due to my lack of knowledge].

I love Star Wars... can't help it. I agree about The Hobbit films over LOTR (loved Martin F and Gollum's bit was well done).

I also love Police Academy up to #3 - Back in Training.

My slightly controversial opinion is that I don't like E.T.

Crushed23 · 02/06/2025 01:49

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is one of the best films ever made.

😂😂
I do remember having to listen to the top 40 countdown on a Sunday night to see who was number 1. Is that even a thing anymore?

The Godfather is better than Godfather 2

Who is this unpopular with, Robert De Niro? 😅

One of the rare cases where a sequel is right up there as an all time classic film, but everyone knows that The Godfather is numero uno, surely?

🤭🤭🤭his current wife is 29 years old and 1 year older than his eldest daughter though. So it’s a no from me 🤣

Yes, I agree. Both are good films but Al Pacino dominated the screen in GF1. I was chilled by his performance.

God he was so hot. Like 33 or however old he was in that film is my ultimate crush. And I’m 37, he’s older than my nana 😂

Cannonball Run 2 is the best ensemble comedy cast of all time.

I know. I’m more surprised he has a masters in chemical engineering and attended a prestigious university than having the young wife 😂

Sold as a romantic comedy but really about prostitution, misogyny and poverty. Agreed.

Yes. Every single one of them, toilet.

I'm kind of in awe at how successful they've been at getting nerds to pump money into it though, despite the fact that it has existed purely for that purpose, with no artistic merit, since pretty much day dot.

I didn’t see it when it first came out. I tried to watch it many years later and just couldn’t get through the whole film. I like a good rom com now and then but Pretty woman was dire.

Dirty Dancing = meh.

Dirty Dancing was the film we all loved as hormone-fuelled teenagers, but watching it again as an adult, it’s a dreadful concept and Baby’s dad (who we all hated as teens) was absolutely right. If the much older and experienced holiday camp Lothario was attempting to grind against my young teenage daughter I’d be packed up and out of there. Creepy lech (Swayze’s character).

It’s very different viewed through adult eyes and would never get made now as it’s not romance, it’s grooming.

@BluePyjamas123 - same for Pretty Woman. At the time of its release, Richard Gere was the absolute pinnacle of desirability and him rescuing the poor prostitute was seen as the ultimate love story.

I caught some of it the other day while I was waiting for someone and it’s not just dated, it’s truly awful. Misogynistic in the extreme.

It came out when I was three but remember a lot of women loving the film… I think I might have even liked it when I was younger but didn’t realise what was it about. You could say that now looking back, at a lot of films that are problematic and with good reason. I loved Big, but then realised he was 12/13 and having sex with an grown woman in her late 20/30s like WTF

Despite everything you said about Dirty Dancing and which I agree with I still love it 😂

The Sixth Sense is shit.

Agree with pp about Dirty Dancing - I know I should find it creepy but sorry, still love it.

See I watched Sixth sense as a kid and found it terrifying, I was like 10, but now I’m like meh. I do think the concept is good though. I laugh at thinking how scared I was at Signs, when the green man walked past in the video footage… but again was like 11. Blair witch was also terrifying, I watched it last year again at aged 36 and was still scared. 😂
