Home Alone 2 was so much better than Home Alone 1...

What's yours?

Is that Hiario

Pollyanna87 · 01/06/2025 23:54

Ealing comedies are boring, and espouse selfish, individualistic attitudes!

murasaki · 01/06/2025 23:55

A View to a Kill is frequently voted as the worst Bond film.

It is actually the best. Great theme tune, Grace Jones, Christopher Walken, mad tech baddie (hello Elon), what's not to love.

MyDelma · 01/06/2025 23:59

I agree @murasaki I love that film! And it's got the Eiffel Tower.

@Pollyanna87 I don't know you but based on this thread alone I can confidently say that every thought you have ever had about films is wrong.

MyBirthdayMonth · 02/06/2025 00:07

It's a Wonderful Life is sentimental claptrap.

Citizen Kane is extremely dull.

The English Patient is better with the sound turned off.

RedIsNotMyFavouriteColour · 02/06/2025 00:08

MyDelma · 01/06/2025 23:48

Saving Private Ryan is shit. It could perhaps have been watchable if Tom Hanks had successfully secured Omaha Beach using only his enormous, empty forehead. Alas, this didn't happen.

Get off my thread!

I've never watched Home Alone. A lot of blockbuster type films are crap.

mepipesneedlagging · 02/06/2025 00:11

Forrest Gump was absolute rubbish.
Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise in Rainman on the other hand? Absolute Perfection. 😍

The Holiday is one of the best Christmas movies there is!

Following on from this, Polar Express is the worst Christmas movie.

whitewineandsun · 02/06/2025 00:15

Pollyanna87 · 01/06/2025 23:48

I watched ‘Past Lives’ on a flight, which got rave reviews. I felt as though I must have been unconscious for a good chunk of the film because literally nothing happens in it.

Yes! It is shit, and the characters are annoying.

BeanQuisine · 02/06/2025 00:17

The best films are obscure minor British and US offerings from the 1930s - 60s that nobody seems to have seen or even heard of apart from me.

Can't remember much about Home Alone except the boy's eyes were too close together.

All superhero films are crap.

No-one has ever watched Citizen Kane all the way through, yet it's supposed to be "the greatest film ever made".

BluePyjamas123 · 02/06/2025 00:28

My eldest child would agree with you, her favourite scene is when Marv gets electrocuted.

IgneousSedimentary · 02/06/2025 00:35

Zov · 01/06/2025 23:18

The Godfather films are crap.

I love Titanic (even though many people CLAIM they hate it now.) Grin

Home Alone 1 & 2 are both brilliant IMO.

Most oscar winning 'classic' epics, are boring snoozefests.

I entirely agree that The Godfather and its sequels are dead boring. I honestly don’t care about men scheming and killing other men, or talking endlessly about killing other men. Snooze-o-rama.

🎄It is but I couldn't find it to watch it last year!

Might have to buy it this year if need be!

Feels like something we should all have stashed away with the decorations.

nepkoztarsasag · 02/06/2025 00:54

Messidor is a better film than Alphaville.

murasaki · 01/06/2025 23:50

Airplane is not funny. Top Secret uses the same joke strategy and is way better.

I disagree re Airplane, but completely agree re Top Secret. I'm still in love with Nick Rivers

NormaMajors1992coat · 02/06/2025 01:05

I agree Peter’s Friends is absolute tripe.

Daniel Craig is the worst bond.

Tangled is the best Disney movie.

Olivia Colman is overrated.

Everything Everywhere All At Once was rubbish.

All biopics are terrible.

GlitchStitch · 02/06/2025 01:05

I love most of Adam Sandler's comedy films and he is also massively underrated as a dramatic actor.

Grace Jones is hot. Icon.

Age of Innocence and No Country for Old Men are two of the worst movies ever.

Did not get the hype over No Country for old men…I like the actors in them but I thought it was mid at best

BluePyjamas123 · 02/06/2025 01:13

Labrinth should never have got the go ahead.

I agree he’s underrated in drama. Ditto Jim Carrey, obvs very funny but also an amazing actor.

Indeed. So hot 😍 Did you know she was seeing the Russian guy, Ivan Drago character from Rocky? Who was like some kind of chemical engineer with numerous degrees, very very clever. Apologises if you knew that but Rocky was before my time and only found that out like last year 🤣

BluePyjamas123 · 02/06/2025 01:13

OMG yes. And Absolute Beginners, which was the worst film I’d ever seen until I saw Love Actually.

I wish he did most serious roles, I’ve only seen him as a serious actor in Uncut Gems. I didn’t finish it though 🤣
