I think people are forgetting that Malibu is probably no more expensive to live in than London.

I’d read that Kylie has made more from property than singing.

But is that "active" property speculating or is it just luck at buying homes and selling them at the right time, bearing in mind that rich people like her will often have several homes (which they actually live in rather than rent out!) in different countries. I believe Kylie has had homes in the UK, Australia and America as well as "holiday" homes in the Med and Caribbean.

When you're buying multi million pound homes, then you're going to "do well" just by house price inflation, especially at the top end where it's pretty easy to buy one for a couple of million, keep it for a decade or so and sell it for ten million plus, just because that's the way the market has moved and selling them to other famous/rich personalities or business billionaires!

Re Kylie, I've read the same about other "pop" singers such as Olivia Newton John, who likewise amassed large amounts of money from selling homes they lived in, far in excess of the money they made from their "profession". One of her earliest homes in California was sold to Madonna for a very healthy profit!!
