I dunno it doesn’t add up, she wasn’t paid megabucks

You think it adds up less than any wild theory you might have?

Obviously she can afford it or she wouldn't be there. How she affords it isn't really your concern. Whatever it is I'm sure it's all entirely above board and nothing particularly unusual or top secret will be involved.

PersnickettyLemon · 16/05/2025 09:26

It’s simple. She takes in laundry, never buys take aways or avocados and doesn’t have Netflix etc.

SilkCottonTree · 16/05/2025 09:27

I just assumed she had won the lottery a few years ago.

Yorkshiremum80 · 16/05/2025 09:27

If you Google her it tells you it's salary from EastEnders, her book, her lifestyle and wellness brands, DJing, and reality TV. Her wellness brand and her DJing is extremely successful and I believe she DJs at high end parties. She is the CEO of two companies so it's easy to see how she's made millions.

No one gets to be a millionaire by "investing" £2k in a regular saver each year. Apart from anything else, the real rate is 4%, because you don't have the full amount in the whole year.

So, no, there is no easy reliable way to get 8% in savings.

You could in the 90's though! I miss that.

Touty · 16/05/2025 02:57

It still does not add up. It doesn’t look like the husband had any money

You've been given very sensible suggestions.
What is it you want to hear?

lechatnoir · 16/05/2025 08:47

For those of you flummoxed how someone can turn a £100k salary back in the 90's into millions today, clearly aren't familiar with the London property market. Good for her I say but intrigued what the OP is getting at as she clearly has an opinion on this!

This.

She was everywhere for a while and it wouldn't have been difficult for her to get the deposits together for btl, too.

CatHairEveryWhereNow · 16/05/2025 09:45

She did build on her success when she settled down a bit, with her tanning line, fitness videos etc.

I saw an interview with a famous working class black USA rapper - and he was saying he wasn't wealthy till he started investing though he was huge star- and a lot of his money came from energy drink sold in supermarkets when that and his invstements made money he said he no longer had to work - though he continued - that was when he was weathy.

I heard Ryan Reynolds made most of his money not so much though acting - and he got a good carreer - but from investments and companies he bought and sold - including rapid advertising one.

I think it's why so many clebs in USA espailly have side hussle - they use their high profile to start clothes, makeup line and that's where the extra income comes from that slowly builds up.

A reliable 8% year on year beats most fund managers.

It really doesn't - a tracker index/fund will easily achieve and/or beat this

EachandEveryone · 16/05/2025 09:49

I assume the husband has been a house husband since the moved to Malibu. I’m not sure if these celebrities tend to buy or rent those huge mansions. I also reckon she made good investments with property years ago. I like her but she was quite condescending in big brother which put me off. I don’t like the way she’s encouraged their kids to be nepo babes as well. They are beautiful but do we need another celebs offspring as the latest model?

Pyew · 16/05/2025 09:50

She's a top flight Malibu DJ doncha know. 😵‍💫🤔

Heylittlesongbird · 16/05/2025 09:50

I’ve never given Patsy Palmer a moments thought. But it’s clear from this thread that she’s a grafter, has worked hard and has diversified to make money from a number of income streams.

OP I really don’t know what you’re insinuating or why you’re singling out Patsy Palmer but I don’t think it reflects well on you.

PrettyPuss · 16/05/2025 09:51

BeyondTheReef · 16/05/2025 02:17

Every £1 she got from shouting “Rickaaaaaaay!” was wisely invested to give her a solid income. Very wise of her.

That's a lot of money.

catmothertes1 · 16/05/2025 09:52

xsquared · 16/05/2025 08:54

This is such an odd thread. Why are you obsessed with what a celebrity with does with their money?

Good on her.

Exactly. The OP seems to confuse the actress with the character she played and the character does not seem to deserve a nice life as far as the OP is concerned.

MonoMono · 16/05/2025 09:54

She strikes me shrewd and someone who values every penny she makes.

Someone up thread referenced her being on CBB. Even with a net worth of 9m, that isn't 9m in cash sitting in the bank. I don't know what she was paid for 2 weeks in BB but I imagine an amount not to be turned down by someone as financially savvy as her. It will be how she built up her wealth - by taking every paying opportunity that has come her way.

I admire it, someone close to me built up a fortune of 10 million from nothing. It is more common than we think.

Butchyrestingface · 16/05/2025 09:54

I remember seeing some photos on her published in the DM (yes!) taken in the garden of her Malibu home a year or so back.

They were probably filtered (though not in your typical duck-face way) and damn, she looked GOOD. Lifestyle obviously agrees with her.

Calling · 16/05/2025 09:57

Maybe she was sensible and did not have a car when she lived in London.

ItGhoul · 16/05/2025 10:00

Touty · 16/05/2025 02:57

It still does not add up. It doesn’t look like the husband had any money

You know nothing about her finances and how she and her partner invested their money, so you don’t have a clue about what there is to ‘add up’.

I don’t know what this faux innocent schtick is but whatever you’re implying, you’re being a bit weird.

Pyew · 16/05/2025 10:01

catmothertes1 · 16/05/2025 09:52

Exactly. The OP seems to confuse the actress with the character she played and the character does not seem to deserve a nice life as far as the OP is concerned.

The OP doesn't say anything of the sort. Just that it doesn't add up, which it doesn't.

According to Patsy herself, she sniffed/drank a lot of what she earned. She married a cab driver. Then all of a sudden they move to Malibu, he never works again, she spends her time on vanity projects with minimal income streams and the odd guest appearance on a BBC soap. At the time they moved there was talk of a lottery win, which makes more sense than her somehow amassing £9.3 million from "wellness".

Overtheatlantic · 16/05/2025 10:03

There are some places in Malibu that are ramshackle bungalows. Maybe one of them. I lived in LA in the 90s and spent a lot of time in Malibu.

Pyew · 16/05/2025 10:04

Calling · 16/05/2025 09:57

Maybe she was sensible and did not have a car when she lived in London.

Is this a TFL official line? "Give up your car and you too can buy a Malibu mansion"?

Poppins2016 · 16/05/2025 10:05

Poopeepoopee · 16/05/2025 02:11

She's invested her earnings wisely and it's paying off now.

It's really not difficult to get 8% return on investments.

Genuine question, where/how do you invest to easily get 8% return? I'm assuming you'd need a large lump sum/enough money to be comfortable with some risk?

stayathomer · 16/05/2025 10:08

I used to do her dance fitness dvd years ago. It did the job. Hopefully a lot of other people did too!!!!!

viques · 16/05/2025 10:14

One thing she did was get clean from drugs and alcohol, so must have made a huge saving by not stuffing cocaine up her nose like so many of her contemporaries.

Serpentstooth · 16/05/2025 10:24

Maybe she and her husband are scheming international criminals? Is that what you're suggesting OP? I think that's extremely unlikely and that you have a bad case of envy. Get over it. She/he are entitled to live their lives without people who know nothing picking over the bones.
