Fed up of spending five quid on coffee when I'm out and about. Maybe a £30 one will be worth it...

Want something that I can chuck in my handbag for work or when I'm just out and about for the day.

Further update.

The second time I used the Contigo I had it upright in a tote bag and it leaked everywhere.

Third time I used it I carried it rather than put it in a bag. It still leaked despite being upright the whole time! How?! It was dripping through the seal.

Will be going back through the thread looking at other options.

That's very strange. I've had a Contigo for 3 years and it has never leaked. Maybe it's faulty?

Reading this thread I'm beginning to think that it's the old Contigo mugs that are the good ones, thats WHY you've had it 3 years, and now, probably production has changed and poorer quality materials used and it's these newer ones that dont last but Contigo still riding it's reputation. Thats my guess anyway.

If you do decide to look again, I also have the Ocean Blue one mentioned here and it's been a game changer. Has never leaked.

Mine has only leaked once in 10 years when I’d screwed the lid on slightly wonky and hadn’t realised. Sounds like you might have got a faulty one?

It may be faulty. However, you don't just want a Contigo. You want a Contigo West Loop, which locks shut.

I feel your pain and had a contigo too that leaked. At least you will got your money back with Amazon returns.

Contigo never leaks - will pay for itself in 2 weeks of not buying coffee

Contigo rusts fast if used for tea.

Supermarkets occasionally have Contigo on special offer, but I'm afraid I don't know about models other than the lockable one. I would think they are good, though, as my lockable seems to work well even without the lock.

Personally I would have no shame in testing a supermarket one with water before I bought it! The supermarket might not like it though....
