Truly leak proof travel mug that keeps coffee HOT?!

Fancytallglass · 14/04/2025 19:30

That ideally doesn't cost £30?! Does it exist?

Fed up of spending five quid on coffee when I'm out and about. Maybe a £30 one will be worth it...

Want something that I can chuck in my handbag for work or when I'm just out and about for the day.

I've had a Stanley flask.for about 10 years and it is the BOMB. I make a coffee at 0730 jusy before I leave for work and it's still warm at 1530 when the school day finishes 😁

I had a contigo and found it both leaked and cooled quickly, maybe they vary? I got it from asda, so perhaps it was an entry level cup?

I now alway use sip n swell, which never leaks and keeps drinks so hot I always cool them first.

No those aren't the good ones although they are OK for the price.
I have a West loop and the Byron is also brilliant .
Worth paying more for .

Contigo vote here too. Football mum lifesaver.

I love my contigo. It's my second because I dropped my original one lid first onto a concrete floor and the lid got damaged. I like the way that it locks shut and can be operated one handed, rather than having to completely remove the lid to drink. I make my coffee at about 7am and it stays hot until lunchtime ( I work in a school and don't often get time to drink anything until lunch time).

Velocity · 14/04/2025 20:44

Mumsnet told me to purchase a Contigo west loop 12 years ago and it’s still going strong and leakproof

fairydell21 · 14/04/2025 20:44

I was sceptical about paying the money but I LOVE my Kambukka.. would definitely recommend. Also have to leave the lid off for a while though 😂

My husband uses Yeti, he is on the road a lot and his tea will still be warm in the afternoon when he's made it at 6am in the morning. Lots of different designs and colour options.

I have a yeti - but it spills everywhere!!! But it does keep it hot.
It even spills when I’m walking with it in my hand and the spout being closed.

i second nespresso, but have never tried the contigo! I’ll give it a shot

MustardGlass · 14/04/2025 20:47

I have a Contigo, it’s definitely worth the money. I can throw it full in my handbag and it keeps hot forever.

Unless they've changed what they sell, they sell the Byron which is what I have and it's great. Maybe yours is faulty?

Ahsheeit · 14/04/2025 20:55

This one. Not a drop leaks out and it's been bunged in my bag many times over the last couple of years. Bought one for my son too and he loves it. Such good value for money.

BlueyandBingo · 14/04/2025 20:57

I have a Stanley Aerolight Transit. It doesn’t spill at all and keeps drinks very hot- I drink peppermint tea and have to leave the lid off for ages when I make it so that it is cool enough when I want to drink it. I made a tea at 11:30 this morning and it was still a bit hot when I went to drink it at 3pm

BlueyandBingo · 14/04/2025 20:59

I should add I know it is over £30 but I love mine and use it everyday.

TeaRoseTallulah · 14/04/2025 21:01

Nespresso 100%

rumblegrumble · 14/04/2025 21:19

Also Contigo - I had no idea I was such a sheep! Dishwasher proof too, which I love as I'm very lazy and hate washing up 😁

Myengagementring · 14/04/2025 19:36

Contigo....but be wary I find I have to make my drink and leave the lid off for it to cool down a bit otherwise the drink stays hotter than the sun for hours 🤣

This. I was a skeptic now I won't go to football without it. Its not my favourite travel mug but its the one I use when I won't be carrying it in my hand as I can chuck it in a footwell or bag

brettsalanger · 14/04/2025 21:24

Yup. Contigo.

TropicofCapricorn · 14/04/2025 21:28

Another vote for Contigo, they're brill.

I’m going to mix it up, I have a Smash cup and it keeps it hot for ages.

I have a Smash cup too which I got in TK Maxx a few months ago. I love it especially as I don't usually like sipping from leakproof cups but this feels less weird. I had one of the Circular Cups as I loved the idea but hated the feeling of it when I drank from it. The Smash one stays hot about 4 hours which is plenty for me

Not leak proof but in the hotter than the sun category the Corksicle cups are amazing as are their bottles. good for work when I often don't get to finish coffee while it's hot in a mug.
I also like Swell. All often found in TK Maxx. I think I saw Contigos in there last week too

TheMimsy · 14/04/2025 21:47

I use a smash mug - got mine from Sainsbury’s for about £10. Also available at Argos, tescos etc.

My chap and mum now have one as well.

chap has truly battered his (engineer) and whilst 5 years later all the external black coating has come off (it’s hit many a concrete floor) - it’s never leaked.

mine comes to conferences and across the world with me and is fabulous.

I use a different brand for cold drinks - Klean - and it’s kept ice frozen for well over 24 hours so would probable work for hot drinks as well. I have a few of theirs in different sizes and they come everywhere with me.

fatgirlswims · 14/04/2025 22:13

To calculate a dose from any pen the formula is:

clicks per dose / strength * desired dose = number of clicks

So: 60/7.5*6.25=50

Fancytallglass · 14/04/2025 22:13

Listened to this just now and it didn't tell me what to buy! Contigo it is
