Where did anyone mention the Reform party?

Erm, Kemi Badenoch is a joke.
The tories are watered down Reform without the balls. Pound shop Reform if you will.
Unless they get back to basics with centre right policies they’re screwed.

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 22:34

@Bigham I have no faith in any of the parties sadly however labour are the wurst of the worst IMO. Reform reinstate benefits unlikely and to be honest the benefits need massive reform I did work for the DWP and saw many grifters in my work why would that make me naive

Bigham · 06/04/2025 22:34

TheNuthatch · 06/04/2025 22:31

Clamping down on tax avoidance is a classic for every struggling Chancellor. It never actually produces much money.
Workers rights bill combined with raising NI and NMW has made it both more expensive and more risky to employ people. It's batshit and is causing job losses.
Do you think a pensioner surviving on just over £200 per week can easily afford to lose WFA? Again, batshit.

Where’s the money coming from then ? Where did the money go ? What would Kemi do differently ?

Lol. So moan about benefit reform by Labour and then say benefits need reforming.
Moan about WFA being means tested and say benefits need reforming.
Let’s bet you don’t mean removal of triple lock.

Eh? Where did the money go? Last I heard, they borrowed shit loads, raised taxes shitloads, and then lost all their headroom through economic incompetence. They are now punishing the most vulnerable to balance the books, but I see you have swallowed the labour spin, hook line and sinker.

So, you decided that those who are aghast at the shit show unleashed are ...secret Reformers?

This is the kind of black and white thinking that means political discussion is limited to swinging shit at those you disagree with.

We've had a succession of parties who hold the general population in contempt.

We need a growing economy so that we can maintain a social contract so that we can care for the vulnerable. Saying you are going to grow the economy, then hobbling business and then dismantling the welfare state to balance the books is worst case scenario. Nobody wants that, I don't care what colour rosette you put on it.

Parsley1234 · 06/04/2025 22:49

@Upstartled a million %
@Bigham I am not moaning about benefits or WFA I merely pointed out benefits do need reform however by crippling business there are no jobs which means no one can get a job and WFA was not in the manifesto
@TheNuthatch there are a lot of weirdo interlopers on this thread I knew my JRM incentive would see them off next time 😜❤️

Ha despite Labour at least we can have a laugh 😂

SpringerSprockerCocker · 06/04/2025 23:15

Weirdo interlopers? Anyone with a JRM fixation has to be right at the top of any weird list 😱😂

Bigham · 06/04/2025 22:27

Not gloating, what a weird comment.
Majority of all pensioners haven’t lost it and those that have wouldn’t miss £300 a year.
What are your feelings about the improvements to workers rights or renters reforms or tightening up Tax avoidance ? The latter is very wide reaching but not publicised at all.

some things labour do are great. Most things have had a negative impact. But you seem to like cherry picking. What do you think to the suggestion of cutting the 2% tax on digital products proposed? What do you think of many pensioners not receiving the WFA and having to choose between heating or eating? Oh and Labour cheering in the house of parliament about it? We can cherry pick our questions all we like.

Parsley1234 · 07/04/2025 08:12

@Bigham workers rights is going to be a disaster coupled with extra NI and tax perfect storm I would not being employing anyone now and I used to employ 8
renters reform see above we used to have 6 rentals now we have sold 2 and have 4 air band bs
tax avoidance clamping down see above I think the max exodus of the rich has shown this is going to be a disaster
it’s all not looking great

billysboy · 07/04/2025 19:00

Air bnb way to go which may be pushing rentals up as well as right to buy

Parsley1234 · 07/04/2025 19:50

@billysboy it is what it is. I was very happy to rent under market value giving a home to domestic violence victims until the government started messing around with renters rights and council tax and tax on income not profit total mess

Birmingham rubbish sounds so bad. It’s going on so long, why doesn’t anyone step in with funding

I'm surprised there haven't been threads on here about this. Some of the photos and videos online are disgusting. Imagine the smell, particularly in this warm weather 🤢.
Angela Rayner visited a few days ago, bless her cottons.

@TheNuthatchit’s odd how little is being said or aimed at Labour gov. Why aren’t they sorting it out?

It looks utterly grim, and all the rats too.

If you're suggesting that the media are giving the government an easy ride, I'm inclined to agree with you.
There are loads of issues being given very little coverage or criticism. Just look at the details that emerged from the education court case last week, and barely anything on msm.

Wittow · 08/04/2025 09:46

I was actually a Labour voter. I voted for this lot. I am absolutely appalled by the policies they are bringing in. Rachel Reeves is vile.

I joined the Lib Dems last week. Ed Davey appears to be the only leader with an ounce of integrity.

I'll be astounded if this is anything other than a 1 term Government, it's shocking how badly they are letting down loyal voters.

TheNuthatch · 08/04/2025 09:49

Yes they probably are but also radio silence on here pretty much. With all that rotting rubbish and rats.

Unite are talking about other cities, Streeting was apparently ‘cross’ this morning but he’s actually the gov in power. Why don’t they intervene?

Welcome @wittow

Gosh that looks grim. The rat population will be in billions.

SpringerSprockerCocker · 08/04/2025 13:41

It makes me feel sick just looking at it. Poor people living with that.
