I’m not sure if I put upthread but one of my clearance chaps has been taken off clearance to sort the rubbish in Bristol again a labour council being ran into the ground. The clearance has now been outsourced

In The Times. London is no longer in the top 5% of wealthiest cities. It’s lost more millionaires than anywhere in the world (in the past year) apart from Moscow. Quite how people can’t see how bad they are is mind boggling.

Parsley1234 · 09/04/2025 07:40

@Andwhoisasking i honestly think people don’t join up the dots 🤦‍♀️we don’t need wealthy people let them go ahem whose paying the taxes then 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️in other news in Birmingham their MP is campaigning for an airport in Pakistan instead of sorting the rubbish out FML

Parsley1234 · 09/04/2025 08:00

Birmingham rubbish sounds so bad. It’s going on so long, why doesn’t anyone step in with funding

I'd like to bet Labour will sort it before local elections.

That's quite an achievement considering Labour have been in power less than a year. Beaten only by Moscow ffs!

@Parsley1234 Oh my 😍. Gorgeous dog tax, thank you. Are they all yours?

Sec of state for business and trade is Jonny Reynolds I'm afraid, so I wouldn't hold your breath for a trade deal.

Out. Out Out. Make your vote count in May.

The level of alienation that is being expressed on Labourlist, giving voice to supporters who feel like the party has deserted them, has hit a kind of fever pitch since the welfare reforms. So, I think even the most optimistic voters back in July are sitting on a lot of disappointment. I bet they'd be amazed at the die hards on MN though - last supporters standing at this rate.

Edited

Labour are only for middle class progressive liberals there days, so MN one of their last bastions of support.

Parsley1234 · 09/04/2025 09:51

Just saw a headline with Nandy blaming something else for millionaires leaving.

It’s that lack of accountability and understanding that’s infuriating.

TheNuthatch · 09/04/2025 10:17

Agreed, any bad news and they just pretend it's not happening, or blame the tories. The lack of accountability is infuriating.

Perhaps getting rid of the wealthy is part of their 'Plan for Change'.

OP posts:
TheNuthatch · 09/04/2025 10:39

Nandy also rejecting suggestion that the government plans for local inquiries in grooming gangs has been watered down, due to lack of progress. Jess Phillips failed to say if any progress had been made yesterday in HoC. Jess Phillips is also on record saying nothing was off the table with regards to a national inquiry, if that's what victims and authorities wanted. Why has there been no progress?

Nandy said they are 'listening to victims and authorities around the country'.

This is absolutely horse shit. Oldham Council recently voted in favour of a full national inquiry. Labour are not listening at all, they seem to want this to stay swept under the rug Now that they've got Musk off their backs.

Such a mess I know I keep saying this but it is the level of unaccountability that’s bloody terrifying

TheNuthatch · 09/04/2025 19:55

I cant keep up with Trump's tariffs. Is every country on 10% now, or just some? I wish he'd make his bloomin mind up. It's no wonder the markets are struggling.

Thanks Parsley. Bloody eejit is spot on. I can't decide whether:-
a) Trump has lost his marbles.
b) Trump never had any marbles.
c) He's living in a sealed echo chamber.
d) He doesn't give a shit as long as he's getting publicity.

All the above really he pretended to have marbles but as the saying goes 'In the land of the blind the one eyed man is King'. We'll just say the Magaites wouldn't score highly on critical thinking and leave it at that.

Editing to add: see also Brexit / Reform fans. They like slogans and unevidenced claims/ uncosted policies. I have to say I'm somewhat sympathetic when you see the absolute shitshow that is UK politics, where Labour are out Tory-ing the Tories, I mean who the hell is there to vote for?

TheNuthatch · 10/04/2025 17:42

On Labour re grooming gangs, Sir Trevor Phillips, (former chairman of Equality and Human Rights Commission) on Times Radio.

"People in government who are responsible for this, who are in other ways decent people, should really be ashamed of themselves, because it's so obvious that they're not doing this because of the demographic of the people involved, as Katie Lam, the tory MP, said yesterday, largely Pakistani Muslim in background, and also in Labour-held seats and councils who would be offended by it."

OP posts:
Parsley1234 · 10/04/2025 18:25

@TheNuthatch just incredulous that this government are so blatantly hating Britain and putting the Muslim Pakistani vote above everything
