Here we go again. Chit chat and small daily projects. Celebrate the wins!

I hope Doggo is ok today @SpiritOfEdna ! You and @Mumtobabyhavoc are an inspiration.
I'm back on it with small jobs and things around here look better as a result.
Washing went on the line last night and I've cleaned two sticky windowsills this morning.

I need to get back to ironing things and preparing clothes for the week, as mornings are now more rushed than they were.
I must buy some clothes to achieve this too. My last job had a uniform but this one doesn't.

Hello, thank you to everyone who has held me in their thoughts over the last few weeks. The reality of my new life and 'widow' status has not hit me at all. I have been busy organising DH funeral and although I have thought of nothing else my brain is not allowing me to process the fact that he is not coming back. I will continue to keep busy and if/when my life begins to crumble I will reassess.

I've wrote myself a big to do list today - it's just a 'here are some things to keep you busy but no hassle if you don't get round to them' kinda list. I'll come back later and update what I have managed.

Thinking of you @autumnangel. I think organising the funeral etc is a good sort of distraction to help get you through the next bit. But then reality will hit. Maybe think about accessing some grief counselling sooner rather than later so you have something in place and it may help you get through.

Thinking of you too @autumnangel . I hope you’ve got lots of support in RL. Doing things as and when you feel able to sounds very sensible.

Thank you all so much @Peridot1 @petalpower @SpringingIntoSummerLobelia I don't have much support just for me in real life to be honest. DH's family have been amazing but they all have their own grief to deal with so I don't want to lay too much on them. DH and I created a lovely little life where it was just the 2 of us and we didn't really have any friends. If I could go back I wouldn't change a thing though. We spent every minute of every day together when we weren't at work and I wouldn't change that but I am struggling a bit wondering how I will move forward without any friends. You have all been very supportive and I will forever be thankful for the love and support you have shown me during the very worst time of my life

@Mumtobabyhavoc I start walking across the Pyrenees 4 weeks yesterday, although I have a 'practise' walk up a mountain (Snowdonia) the weekend before 😄There will definitely be photos.
Today

• need to try and breakdown a wardrobe into pieces to get into my car to take to tip - although I might just find a man with a van
• pick up all the dust and dirt from wardrobe dismantle - DONE
• need to find some dust sheets from somewhere
• I've spent an inordinate amount of time yesterday looking for my mouse as laptop unusable without - found now, so I might actually get some work done
• Got the afternoon off so will take the opportunity to go the gym, give SpiritDoggo a long walk (she seems to be fine now, thank you @WinterFrogs )
• I want some nice flowers - just because 😄

Lol, been writing this since 9am this morning, so will press post and go off to the gym after just one mor meeting (hurrah), SoE

@autumnangel I’m glad we’ve been a bit of comfort to you.

I’ve been busy with jobs since getting back home. We go back to stay with family again next week and can see my dad every day. He was discharged from hospital last night and is now back in his nursing home. Very frail and wobbly but we’re thankful that he’s improving slowly. He was very unsettled and agitated in hospital and I’m hoping he will settle, rest and recover now.

I've had a lot of admin today. Also two appointments. Later my mum needs some assistance with same. We normally intercept her post because it upsets her when she can't make sense of it, poor little soul, but this piece of financial stuff slipped by us. And now she's worrying 😟

I was about to hang washing out but I can hear thunder so tumble dryer it is!

Nowt done around the house other than washing. Leftovers for supper.

well I was back at the dentist today. And. I. Am. Done! I now have no gaps! Implants complete and a new crown on another tooth. DH is still recovering from the cost of it all.

Not much else achieved today but I picked up a lamp I bought on FB Marketplace. Bargain!!! Went for a walk. Did a load of laundry.

Just having a cup of tea. Had a bit of lunch. Have a GP appt, so will leave shortly. Still feel crap. Headache is lessening, though. It's 28c here today and the heat is making me feel rather gross.

Petal, was awake from 3-4:30am and now since 6 with the kids. I think I'm a bit better. Less achey. No headache so far. Thanks for asking. We all have eye appts this this afternoon. I'll wear a mask.

Hope the children go to bed easily and you can have an early night to make up for your disturbed one last night @Mumtobabyhavoc .

Hi everyone!

Tip run for me today. We also had masses of rain yesterday and a ceiling leak. DH is dealing with that while I go and find anti-fungal wallpaper paste. Plus I need to pick up cat medication for our very medically expensive 23 year old cat. The joyous news on that front is that her blood tests on Wednesday showed her thyroid issues are stable and we can keep with the current dose of medication.

I'm coughing, but getting better.
Still awake with baby who doesn't care it's night time, that mummy is tired and it's time to sleep because there's lots of playing to be done.
Hoping I'll get enough sleep and be well enough to take baby to activity in the morning.

Temp was 28c today (72% humidity atm). No wonder I felt so gross. I thought it was just a fever. 😂

No tasks to report. Just trying to keep everyone fed and clean. 😁

@Peridot1 - probably scary at the moment - although I am ready, just need to avoid blisters for the next three weeks (and I am being plagued by thoughts that I haven't prepared enough)...Good news on getting all your dental work done and dusted.

Today

• some interview cancellations today so unexpectedly got some free time (hurrah) so am pottering about getting little things done as usual moving things into the right places + another afternoon off
• Afternoon off will be taken with tidying bedroom and walking dog: which is now!

Home alone tonight - cannot wait: me and the dog and Elementary on the tellybox, have a good one, SoE

Evening all.

I managed a tip run. I failed to get the cat's medication because it was not ready yet. I did manage to get wallpaper paste with fungicide. I took the Dcs out to a new cafe for 'cake' that ended up being an overpriced and over-rated sandwich. I cleaned the kitchen.

All in all, I'll take it.

Lobelia, I get so annoyed with overpriced/rated places now. It used to be so much more affordable. I used to go and buy coffee daily. Then Covid hit and I learned to make lattes at home... 💁‍♀️

So. Still coughing and a bit feverish and snotty here. 🤧
But, I vacuumed, put away laundry and washed and hung another load, got into the garden and hacked it to near death and picked some mint. I'm now steeping triple strength tea overnight for mint iced tea tomorrow.
I purged Havoc's socks into the box I'm filling for donation. Cleaned under the couches. Cleaned the toilet. Opened about 3 weeks of mail and sorted it and it's ready to file. I made a pizza for dinner. Hmmm... what else? Tied up the kitchen garbage. And I think that's all. I'm just putting baby to sleep and thinking baby falling asleep in my arms is one of the loveliest things ever and these precious moments are so limited.
