I don't think leaders of theocracies are ever constrained by the dictates of their religion.

It's always – ALWAYS – one rule for thee and another for me.

New: The Trump admin has been ordered by chief US district judge James Boasberg to show up to a 4p ET hearing today and clarify whether they defied his court order compelling the return of deportation flights of suspected Venezuelan gang members.

Trump claimed aboard Air Force One he could use the Alien Enemies Act to justify deportations because the US was at war with unnamed nations’ criminals who “invaded our country”, per pool. The Constitution says of course that Congress has the sole authority to declare war.

Administration advises all foreign students, staff, and faculty to postpone or reconsider (ie cancel) international travel, due to federal government's crackdown on universities.

Brown also warns against domestic travel -since it's unclear what ICE will do.

I wouldn't place a bet on it.

At least, 'no one who is anyone' will show up . They'll send some low level mouthpiece who will answer every question with "I don't know why..." or "I have no information on ....".

This is what happened recently when a judge ordered either the Administration or DOGE (can't remember which) to show up and explain why they'd ignored a court order to release withheld funds that had been previously approved by Congress. They sent some stooge who basically couldn't answer any of the judge's questions. The judge was furious.

What next? Don't leave your dorm incase they see you?

Currently watching handmaid's tale. Although the US's situation is currently quite far off from that, it's scary how quickly things can change..
