Here's a tip, Mr Hannan. When you say you hope that people aren't so stupid as to reject trading benefits like the Pan European Med Pact because it has the word European in the title, will find that your colleagues were in fact that stupid.

Vote stupid. Vote Conservative

SerendipityJane · 31/01/2025 10:02

The best thing about Brexit was the the freedom to choose our own sovereign tax policies, like VAT on private schooling.

In fact that was the only reason I voted Leave.

Will be something the censors will not be happy with.

Notonthestairs · 31/01/2025 10:09

Extraordinary that Hannan was sponsored by Newsnight to make that unsubstantiated List of Magical Things.

Right I had better get back to my lower food prices, lower fuel prices and lower taxes. ✨

BIWI · 31/01/2025 10:55

@Willowkins no. What would actually be polite would be @LilyMumsnet answering the quite legitimate question about what does constitute a post against TGs. Because all that's happened has been a vague warning without anything to make it clear what the actual 'offence' was.

I do love a black cat. I’m currently afflicted (🤣) with one who is both orange and long haired, but I’ve had gorgeous black cats in the past.
in fairness said orange idiot is currently nursing me through migraine recovery (excuse my oodie, pjs and feet in this pic).

Well, collectively Johnson headed a government full of people who thought even the word Europe shouldn't be engaged with. He is totally responsible for that imo, and his self interest does not absolve him

Totally agree. And what makes it worse is that I don't think he did totally believe in it. I know that pre Brexit he wavered over which side to back. He and his family benefited so much from the EU directly.

I think that sort of medicine would make me feel better for sure.

bombastix · 31/01/2025 09:03

Don't. I hate the fact that the UK came up with the idea of the Single Market. Thatcher's idea,

Then Johnson and his remedial colleagues decided that this wasn't a good idea. The thickest government ever.

This.

One of the positive things from a Thatcher government. And it's been ruined - maybe forever.

My caption is ‘Tory leader feeds calves’. She’s taking an interest in the farming community which is a state of shock at the moment. Of course course it doesn’t affect you.

bombastix · 31/01/2025 14:08

Aw derxa you are no fun. It is a very silly photo

It would be a cheap shot to make a comment about cows.

However it's telling that St, Kemi chose to be photographed at the mouth not the udder. So something along the lines of being an udder disgrace would probably suffice.

Or to raise the tone, something about here is how the Tories feed the sacred cow of Brexit.

Bovid 19 ?

E2A: I'll get my coat ....

bombastix · 31/01/2025 14:19

@SerendipityJane - I agree. It would be udderly disgraceful to be unkind about the calf
