Stolen shamelessly. What strange times when I find myself cheering for Julia Hartley-Brewer.

The PM is absolutely right when it comes to the deployment of British troops in Ukraine to uphold any peace deal and deter Putin.

The Government must look at reversing the Conservatives' 10k troop cuts asap.

Appreciate that L/Ds seem of little interest to anyone but me Grin but I thought I'd add this.

Confirmation that Tice/Farage will do exactly what Trump/Putin tell them to do.

Do you have a link re: Sunak please Duncin. Would like to post on another thread.

Quite an eye opener that thread, blinded by Labour hate some of them.

"The Conservative party in Britain has just lost an election. We have a crisis. People ask me what difference new leadership will make? Well, take a look at president Trump. He’s shown that sometimes you need that first stint in government to spot the problems, but it’s the second time around when you really know how to fix them"

They had 14 years in Government...is that a first stint?

I admit myself surprised that Farage - who despite what anyone says has shown himself to be a savvy operator - is putting himself in a position where he could be on the wrong side of history.

JHB went easy on Tice. Referring to him as the MP for Dubai would be appropriate and leave it up to him to explain.

I can't help but feel the plan was to have a Tory government at this stage. That would have sewn Ukraine up like a kipper.

I hope we are all taking great pride in kicking against the pricks in such a literal sense ?

"Free speech matters. Some cultures are better than others, and it’s only contentious to say this because honesty has become impossible."

I wonder which Tory MP is going to explain which cultures are better than others?

🎶Derrr derrr derrr duh duh derrr, nerr nerr nerr🎵🎵

In at number 10 after a surprise rise in popularity because everyone thought they were untrustworthy it's...

I shall not take my racial pop chart thought any further because that would actually be racist.

Sunak's message. I'd say that was unequivocal.

Good on Sunak.

She's a fucking bile person isn't she?

I note she never goes on to specific whack cultures she deems more important?

Cheguevarahamster · 17/02/2025 12:39

The JHB interview with Tice was excellent and I was cheering her on. Good on Sunak too. (I must admit I thought we wouldn't have seen him for dust after the election)

I don't know if anyone saw Kuensburg on Sunday but I quite enjoyed Adrian Ramsay referring to Tice being from Reform Ltd.

I agree with you @SerendipityJane Its definitely a misstep from Farage.

BIossomtoes · 17/02/2025 12:59

Farage and his merry men must be so conflicted right now. It’s such a shame.

Ursula von der Leyen

Just arrived in Paris for crucial talks.
Europe’s security is at a turning point.
Yes, it is about Ukraine—but it is also about us.
We need an urgency mindset.
We need a surge in defense.
And we need both of them now.

Maybe we should all just attack Russia and get it over with?

We have nuclear weapons so if they use them, we use them back.

Or is that a bit much?

PickAChew · 17/02/2025 13:54

Another contender: Some leaders are better than others.

SerendipityJane · 17/02/2025 13:57

Our mate Phil did an analysis of the JBB v. Tice knockout.

The right/far-right are in a pickle. So far it's been good for business to pretend to the world they are anti-whatever-the-wokeists-are. However with the arrival of a sense of real peril which puts arguments over rainbows into perspective, they are sounding a tad like last years dinner.

The government has met a key election pledge to deliver two million extra NHS appointments in England in its first year, the prime minister has said.
The target was achieved between July and November last year, when there were almost 2.2 million more elective care appointments compared to the same period in 2023, the government said.

There's already a thread full of posters saying that can't have happened. They're probably in the same room as the posters saying Trump is a genius peacemaker and Putin an all round great guy.

She should be put to the sword. What have the EU done to support Ukraine in the last four years?

They can loosen their spending and procurement rules like now or she should go home

Some MN right wingers are coming across as Putin apologists. It is very odd.
