If you're 5ft5 at what weight do you feel slim?

Am coming to the end of a long weightloss journey and have come further than I originally thought I would and still don't feel quite satisfied.

I'm wondering if I have a warped sense of slim due to the fact I was close to 250lbs for many years.

So I am asking the question above to gauge :)

I got down to 11 stone and felt fabulous

Iwanttoliveonamountain · 05/01/2025 19:05

Nine stone 7 lb is a perfect weight for your height. Well, that’s what I weigh.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 05/01/2025 19:05

I’m 5’5” and currently 11st 6 from 13st 11. I have been slimming for the last two years and my lowest was 10st 9. I was trying to get to 10st but my target is now 10st 7. I was tiny when I was early teens then 10st 10lb for most of my 20’s. Once got down to 9st 9 and it was very hard to maintain. A lot of people commented when I got to 10st 9 that I didn’t need to lose any more.

kiraric · 05/01/2025 19:06

I am 5 foot 4 and feel pretty good at 10 and a half stone. I think I must be quite dense (!) because at that weight, I am a size 10, a size 8 even in some shops

AquaPeer · 05/01/2025 19:07

9-9.5 stone. I’ve been trying to get back to it for about 6 years. I am 10st 10 and def not anything like slim.

StStephensTower · 05/01/2025 19:09

I am 5ft 3 and feel slim at 8 stone but carry all my weight on my thighs and hips..so whilst my chest looks a bit boney my thighs are still massive.

safetyfreak · 05/01/2025 19:09

I am 11 stone and I am hoping to get to 10 and a half for the summer.

I would feel great at under 10 stone.

ChampagneLassie · 05/01/2025 19:09

Mifiee · 05/01/2025 19:00

Always been heavier, sort of 11/12st was my norm but sat at 18st for maybe 4 yrs

AmKnow 9st 6lbs

I think I need to do some weights and tone up.

You’ve done amazingly losing so much. I’m 5’7 and weigh 9 stone and im quite slim . I've been bigger in past and this feels a good size and weight for me.

Unpaidviewer · 05/01/2025 19:10

I'm 5'8" and need to be under 140lbs or 10 stone to feel normal. 135lb is perfect for me, I'm quite broad so I don't think being any thinner looks great on my body type.

user2848502016 · 05/01/2025 19:10

I'm 5'4 and would like to get back to 10st or under - I'm about a size 10-12 then and it's a sustainable weight for me (still slightly overweight though according to BMI!).

I have been slimmer in my 20s before kids etc but I think I'd have to starve to stay at that weight again

JustToBeMe · 05/01/2025 19:10

BCBird at 5'4 I too I would be happy for 11 stone.
10.7 even more so!

I'm a 18 on top and mostly a 12/14 on my bottom half... bloody hard work loosing a bust size or two

Taken over 10 wks to loose 7lb and over Xmas have put on 2... I need to get back to work I think...

SpringIscomingalso · 05/01/2025 19:11

5 f 3 - here
in kg -50 is the perfect classic slim healthy weight for that height. However I like a bit of mashallaaahhhhh and 55 is the best

ShiftySquirrel · 05/01/2025 19:12

I'm that height and pre kids was comfortable at 9st 4 without any effort.

I once dropped to below 7st 4lb after a six week bout of illness (gastric flu is the closest I can describe it as) and I looked terrible. I went back to my usual weight once the fever and vomiting had subsided and I could eat again.

My goal weight these days is 10st 10. It will take a good effort to get there, but will be worth it I feel. One stone at a time.

I've just reached this from 13 stone 4, now a size 14. My lightest for years & I'm loving it!

Well done OP! I bet you feel great.
I was going to say that 9 stone would be slim at 5'5" - but that's just going on BMI.
As your norm was on the heavier end (dipping into just overweight at 11 1/2 stone) I'd say that what you are now is perfect.
What do you mean you don't feel satisfied? With how you look and feel, or is it more a feeling of wanting to carry on with the weight loss life?

How would you feel about chucking the scales out and working on the toning and exercise? You could use a tape measure (or just how your clothes feel), or take weekly photos to reassure yourself you're staying on track.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 05/01/2025 19:21

I am 5"5' and weigh about 60Kg. I feel properly slim at 54-57KG. Anymore than 61 and I start feeling chubby.

emmax1980 · 05/01/2025 19:21

I'm 5ft 5 and I'm 9 stone 10 -10 stone I would prefer to be 8.5/9 stone.

80smonster · 05/01/2025 19:23

5’6 over here, when I was 8 and half stone - I was a small size 10.

But to be fair I had my first pregnancy at 18 and then 3 more through my 20s and early 30s and then got seriously over weight.

So in my adult life I've never been a normal weight that wasn't affected by pregnancy/ breastfeeding so I really don't know where I fall naturally.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you get to 9.6 stone?

Differentstarts · 05/01/2025 19:26

Anywhere between 9 and 10 stone is good for me but I like to have a figure of a woman not a 12 year old boy

Game0fCrones · 05/01/2025 19:27

I dont think weight matters to be honest, its more about vital statistics. I feel nice at 36" 26" 36" - I'd prefer to be 34" 24" 34" but I'd literally have to starve myself for that.

Allthingsbrightandbeautifulx · 05/01/2025 19:28

Feel good at 9-91/2. Currently 10.4, before I hit my 30’s I used to fluctuate between 7.10 -8.4. But would be happy to get back to 9 for summer.

KnewYearKnewMe · 05/01/2025 19:28

I'm 5'4" and have always felt slim at around 12.5 stone - which I know will shock some people!

At that weight, I'm a size 14. I have broad shoulders and i feel good at that size... especially as I get older.

IAmNeverThePerson · 05/01/2025 19:30

5’5”. Fighting weight is 9.5 stone feel good anywhere between 10 and 11
