Bought beautiful new bedsheets. Reduced in the sale, gorgeous colours with toadstools on them, felt ok in the shop.
Got them home, washed them and they have gone shiny 🤬 like the kind of static shiny so that your duvet ends up in a weird shape and you're rolled up like a stuck sweating pig.

Am absolutely gutted (and furious 😠) and hoping a trip to Homesense will cure me of my wierd shiny-bedsheet-hate.

The M&S Christmas Colin - impossible to cut, dry, too sweet, much smaller than it looked in the box. Very disappointing.

OurDreamLife · 02/01/2025 21:49

I got a new hairdryer. It’s rubbish with very little power as it’s an eco one.

SantaBakula · 02/01/2025 21:59

I got my DB some heated socks , they came with a USA plug . I got a refund but socks are still useless.

I think that's upset me more than the bedsheets fiasco. I love a Colin!

Waitrose Yule Log at £7 - just really average!

TheGodOfSmallPotatoes · 02/01/2025 22:13

I always really wanted a shark flex until I tried my friends. It wouldn’t grip my hair, created a ton of frizz and my normally curl holding hair (for days!) dropped the curls in a couple of hours 😐

IAKnowyou · 02/01/2025 22:20

A refurb iPad which was "completely factory reset" came locked with passcode that we only realised on Xmas day. They got back to us days later with the passcode once it had already been sent back for a refund. 😤

If you've still got the receipt, I'd take them back and ask for a refund. They shouldn't go like that if you washed them according to the instructions.

No way! Ours was lovely, not dry at all.

AndThereSheGoes · 02/01/2025 23:05

Colin was the highlight! Loads of chocolate and ours wasn't dry. It was bloody sweet though.

DH paid £15 for a phone holder to go in the car as his onboard Sat Nav went kaput. Sadly it wouldn't stick for more than 2 minutes and only worked in portrait not landscape. We were on the road at this point so couldn't return it.

SisSuffragette · 02/01/2025 23:13

I bought my 11yo some silver leggings from TU. The shiny coating has rubbed off in very noticeable patches after just 2 wears 😭

AWeeNameChange · 02/01/2025 23:17

Bosh. Cool cup.

Lid leaks & can’t sip out of it without sloutering contents all over the place.

Terrible design and really disappointed with the shop that sold it to me.

‘No leaks - it’s for the car’ was literally my only ask.

Try Smash. They do properly leak free cups. I put mine in my work badge with my work laptop. Might be a little fiddly to open when driving though.

Can't you just buy an adaptor?

You can buy an adapter from Amazon for this

sloecat · 02/01/2025 23:32

I bought one of those hand held steamers for cleaning and I nearly scaled my arm the first time I used it. It’s awkward to hold and dangerous in my opinion. I should have sent it back.

goonie33 · 02/01/2025 23:33

A remote control car for ds off Tik Tok shop. Put batteries in it and tested it as soon as it arrived. All worked fine. Wrapped it and when he opened it on Xmas day it no longer worked. Cheap shit and I should have known better. Too late to return now.

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 02/01/2025 23:40

Projector wont link to pixel phone without a special connector/port thing. Even if it does connect, apparently Netflix and the like block screen sharing on them anyway so you'd need another connector thing and a few different types of wire. Bloody pointless.

AnotherDayAnotherIdea · 02/01/2025 23:45

For some reason many of the new cotton tops we have bought this year have immediately sprung small holes. Huh. Maybe we have bugs.

Larger purchase: my house.

TheFormidableMrsC · 02/01/2025 23:52

I bought lots of party food from Aldi, all of which was great except the pork belly bites. Absolutely horrendous. I don't know why they included little serving picks, they were basically pork belly crumbs with lumps of fat. Grim. I was very disappointed.

NoBiscuitsLeftInMyTin · 02/01/2025 23:53

. Deleted - wasn’t funny

CoastalCalm · 03/01/2025 00:16

Electric egg boiler , set for soft boil and came out hard boiled

Shufflebumnessie · 03/01/2025 00:26

In October we bought an outdoor storage box to keep outdoor furniture cushions etc in during the summer (we'd wanted one for years but couldn't justify the expense & treated ourselves to it as an early, joint Christmas present).
It came with a free protective cover & the instructions said to use the cover during the winter months.
It's been outside for 2 months & just before Christmas we decided to store a couple of things in it temporarily (to free up space inside the house whilst hosting Christmas). Took the protective cover off to find the inside of the storage box pooling with water & covered in mould!! It would appear that the cover hadn't allowed any air flow & the condensation has built up and ruined it.
We're absolutely fuming as it wasn't cheap. I'm going to contact the company tomorrow to see what they say but I'm fully expecting them to relinquish any responsibility and say it's our fault (somehow!!).

Oh no, I have these waiting in my fridge-I was really looking forward to having them 🙁

Crimpit toastie maker, absolutely tiny, great if you want half a toastie and to waste a whole slice of bread
