Bought beautiful new bedsheets. Reduced in the sale, gorgeous colours with toadstools on them, felt ok in the shop.
Got them home, washed them and they have gone shiny 🤬 like the kind of static shiny so that your duvet ends up in a weird shape and you're rolled up like a stuck sweating pig.

Am absolutely gutted (and furious 😠) and hoping a trip to Homesense will cure me of my wierd shiny-bedsheet-hate.

I got a present of a box of Dairy Box chocolates, they used to be the nicest ones..now they are just disgusting. Why oh why did they have to change them? I remember the toffee caramel ones and the turkish and strawberry yum. Now it's all gingerbread, iced pudding, vanilla cup. All weird flavours.

I thought similar about black magic chocolates they were a bit posh in the 70s well they were in our house.
They were bloody awful the fillings didn't match the chocolate and the chocolate was horrible.

I’ve measured the duvet cover which is 200x200 as it says on the packaging (was beginning to wonder if it was a king size by mistake)
I’ve also measured my double duvet which is meant to be 200x200 and this is 186x186 cm as is the one in the spare room.
so now I need to get a double duvet which is actually the size it says it is

It was the top border. As you can see the photos show it folded over (which I don't do) so I couldn't tell. It just looked wrong to me.

I have one like this, to this actual one. I thought it didn't have the edging bit along the top to stop it from flapping in your face when you slept.

A standard double duvet is 200 x 200 cm.

New GHD hair dryer - heavy and takes ages 😕

I am on my 4th GHD hairdryer in 3 years. They keep being replaced under warranty. Make sure you register it online x

I bought DH a large box of his favourite Italian biscuits - well the box was large but I couldn’t believe how few individually wrapped tiny biscuits were hiding therein. We also decided to purchase a roses and a hero’s tin for the first time in quite a few years. Both were super sweet, half empty and very disappointing. After reading these comments I’m happy I made a Christmassy chocolate fudge cake instead of investing in a Colin. I must say though we all really enjoyed the M&S shortbread.

EcruCardigan · 07/01/2025 10:45

Don't bin the leftover chocolates. Take them to work. They'll soon vanish.

Yes, the label on duvet confirms that but I’ve measured and it is less

The duvet is a bit smaller than the cover to make sure it has enough room to lie flat. I wouldn't expect it to be that much smaller though.

Blakeley oversized sweatshirts. Both have developed strange marks and are unwearable. Seems lots of people have found the same reading comments under their ads.

I HATE my Shark. I spend more time trying to clean it and get stuff unstuck from the roller rather than doing any hoovering with it! Horrible bloody thing !!

piscofrisco · 09/01/2025 11:02

Same here @LIJ I had to go back to using bloody Henry who I also loathe as he falls over all the time and bashes in to things, but at least he actually works.

Limedaiquirialwayslime · 09/01/2025 21:23

Same here with the shark. Heavy, rollers constantly got stuck then finally it blew up! Probably could’ve spoken to them and had it replaced but didn’t want another one. Awful
thing!

PotterHead1985 · 13/01/2025 13:56

Ready salted pringles. What in heaven's name have they done to the bloody things. They taste flipping awful. So far it only seems to be the ready salted ones, the other flavours seem OK.

I also hate my shark. Too heavy.

Neveranynamesleft · 13/01/2025 22:30

Agree about the Pringles, taste weird. And they can go in a thread about ' things that are overpriced and not worth the money ' too 🙂

Xmas 2023 I got a Temu leg warmer and massager. I followed instructions diligently. It was fine on lower heating and I worked my way up to heating level3. It switched off automatically.
It seemed rather hot a couple of times but ok. The 3rd time after use I noticed my leg was severely burnt. It took 4 months to heal. The burn was very deep. The infection spread all over my leg. 4 lots of strong antibiotics.
An absolute disgrace.

Yes my shark is really heavy. It picks up well but I literally have to use my foot to change its direction as it’s too heavy to just turn with my hand.

While it's crap that your leg warmer burnt you so badly how did you not notice before it got that bad ?
Was it prolonged contact or did the heat shoot up very quickly?

Endorewitch · 05/02/2025 22:17

Last time I used it I noticed ot was hotter for a few minutes. Then it suddenly got very very hot and I took it off. Had a bad burn. Treated it and awful as it was it seemed to be healing. Then got infected which spread really quickly. Needed 3 lots of strong antibiotics.
Feel there must have been a fault in leg warmer. Had been OK on other leg.
