How quickly after meeting did you marry or have a child?

And if it was really quickly are you still together? We were engaged, married and had a child born within the first year 😮 didn’t seem crazy at the time but definitely would in today’s world.

8 years, but I was 19 when we met!

I was a teen, him in his 30s, I was pregnant and married within a year, the abuse started just after that and it took 5 kids and 13 years to get away.

After a couple of years had a 1 night stand, got pregnant, stayed together for 3 years but it didn't work out (didn't live together just co parented).

I've now been with my dp for 5 years (after being single for a couple of years), no kids, won't be having any and we are just thinking about moving in together. Not sure if we will ever get married.

Pregnant within 2 years, split at 5. Best not to rush these things.

Met, engaged, married, and pregnant with DC1 at the one year mark. 13 years ago.

DH and I got married 5 years after meeting, and had dc1 6 years after getting married. I wasn't really interested in getting married and having kids when I met him, so we only did those things once I came around to the idea.

Oh and yes we’re still together. I like him even better every year that goes by honestly, he’s a star.

Met, married and first baby within two years twenty five years ago.

Met in the September, first date in December married in the May. We didn’t start a family for 5 years because we both had a child and we wanted them to settle. Been married 36 years now.

Definitely agree. as I say we literally got married and child born before first anniversary of first date. But the world was a very different place, now people have a whole world of potential suitors and the world is a lot ‘bigger’. We’ve had to grow up and grow together and there were definitely moments I’ve thought gosh maybe we didn’t really know each other as much as we thought we did, I would advocate to my own children no major decisions to be made during the ‘lust’ phase!

Engaged within a year, married a year later, first DC born the following spring (almost 9 months to the day after our wedding), four years later, and expecting DC3 in the spring.

Pregnant within 6 weeks. 18 years on now and going strong and have 3 children. Never married though, neither of us have been arsed about it and despite the hysteria on mn about women ‘protecting themselves’, I’ve only ever seen it cause more issues during break ups

@Belladavis the question is when is the lust phase over? After 2 years we thought life was fine and dandy but the baby brought it down with a bump.

Met, moved in, bought a house and got engaged within 2.5years. Married 2 years later, first child after 11.5years. No infertility, just hadn’t been the right time before.
