How quickly after meeting did you marry or have a child?

And if it was really quickly are you still together? We were engaged, married and had a child born within the first year 😮 didn’t seem crazy at the time but definitely would in today’s world.

DD came when I was 33

We have our Silver Anniversary next year.

Met in May 1983, I was 20, my girlfriend was 22. Married in October 1984, first child August 1985, five children by December 1990, twins at the last.

The mindset now is that having kids too early ties you down, leaving no time for yourself.

We married almost exactly two years after meeting, we don't have children (by choice) and we are still together 20 years on.

Married after 4 years. No children 9 years later. It terrifies me how quickly people rush to have a baby with someone they barely know.

After 2.5 years we got married. 18 months of those were Covid though so we had to make the choice to be together more than we might otherwise have done. (Though we were happy to do so-in fact we both look back on that time as being amazing-albeit I know how awful it was for others). That sort of fast forwarded the relationship a bit.

Married at 8 years, child 18 months later.

Started dating Dec 2008 (met through work so knew of each other for six months-ish prior to dating), engaged April 2010. Married Jan 2011, first child Jan 2012. Still together and second child born October 2018.

I became engaged after a year of dating, married 2.5 years after we started dating and had our son 4 years 8 months after we started dating! So it was fairly quick and yes, we are still together 18 years later (married 16).

DC was born 9 months to the day we met

Met, engaged and then married in about 20 months. DC1 born 2 years later, he's now 30, and DH and I still together. We've weathered a few storms and there are days when he drives me nuts, but the thing that attracted me to him in the first place, his kindness and decency, still shines through.

We've just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, but there's definitely been lots of ups and downs in our marriage.

Met very young (first year at Uni). Married after 4 years, baby number 1 was after 10 years of marriage. Would have been 6-7 years but some difficulties with conceiving. Second baby with no problems under 3 years later. There were no nasty surprises after the babies came along as we’d grown up into adulthood together.

We had DS 23 months after meeting. We’re still together (and married)12 years later. We were in our mid 30s when we met, though, and both knew what we wanted.

Married after three years, child after four years. Still together after 16 years.

We got engaged after a year and then 18 months to plan and execute the wedding.

We got married, moved, I had surgery and started a new job in one year. That was tough.

We have a two year gap between our two children so I think we are very average on everything.

Worked for us.

First marriage, engaged within six months, married three years later, no kids split after three years of marriage.

We started dating one year after having met. Six months into dating, we went to live together. 8 years later, we got married. Then, a year later we had our first DC. The loveliest journey of my life.

I had our first DC 4 years after we met. 2nd DC 3 years later. Married 11 years after we first met.

Been together 32 years.

Moved in together after 2 months (circumstances, not planned). Married 10 years later. Still madly in love after over 18 years.

Met at 19, married 2 years later, 1 DC 20 years later, split 20 years later.
