How quickly after meeting did you marry or have a child?

And if it was really quickly are you still together? We were engaged, married and had a child born within the first year 😮 didn’t seem crazy at the time but definitely would in today’s world.

Met in the June, married in the November. Had DC1 18 months later and DC2 18 months after that. 30+ years ago. Still married.

We had known eachother a few years prior and when we entered a relationship I wasn’t on any contraception so we had the conversation and both very much wanted children and were very sure about eachother so we said we won’t try but if it happens then we’d be very lucky. We didn’t expect it to happen so quick of course but we are 3 years on our LO is now 2 and I’m grateful every day for the both of them.

The thing is most children are from broken homes- fact. So the majority of relationships that involve children do not last. Yet here most people are saying they are still together do this us but an accurate sample.
There will be a lot of mumsnetters who haven’t posted on this thread, who met, had a child but are no longer with the father of their child.
So many people also have children with different men.

We met in October moved in in January had first child in November. Together 18 yrs.

We got married almost exactly 3 years after we met, with eldest dc born about 18 months after our wedding. That seems like a perfectly reasonable time frame, but we were 21 and 27 when we started dating. 16 years later, still very happily married. We were sure within 6 months that we definitely wanted to get married and started putting plans in place for a life together then. I would shit a brick though if one of my dc told me they were planning to get married at 21 though. It worked for us, but I think it’s very young.

Engaged after two years together, married three months after. Had a baby two months after my wedding day.
Second baby 3 years later...
Third baby 5 years after that...and fourth baby less than two years later...Will be married 18 years next month! Still very in love and it seems to be a strong marriage, so far so good 👍

I have just been lucky that's all.

Met on the 23rd of October. Got engaged on Christmas eve. Married the following June. Still together 24 years later and it's been brilliant.

We both knew we were right for each other and that has never changed.

5 months from meeting to marrying. 20years married this year and have three kids.
