I’ve had an Ocado delivery this afternoon, 6 substitutions and 14 missing items, not a great start Xmas Hmm

OP posts:

Not a single substitution/ missing item this morning with Sainsbury’s which is a lot better than usual!

We’ve got a second one booked for next Monday, so let’s see.

My cheese is missing in action though, was supposed to be arriving today but they’ve had a technical issue so will be here at some point over the weekend …

Pineapplewaves · 20/12/2024 17:59

Asda sent me a red cabbage the size of an orange and my Chinese selection was substituted with the Indian version. Happy with everything else.

Trumpton · 20/12/2024 18:09

Tesco did well. Frozen parsnips instead of fresh but I shall use them for soup. Everything else was fine. DH panicked and put bin bags in so we now have 4 rolls of kitchen bin liners and big black bin bags as well ( we never use them)

DelilahBucket · 20/12/2024 18:23

Oh dear, I usually rely on Ocado to not have subs or missing items. They have been doing this more frequently of late though. Ours is coming Sunday night so at least there's time to get to the supermarket for anything missing.

BigBangBang · 20/12/2024 19:06

I have an Ocado delivery booked for Monday. I put a M&S turkey crown with stuffing in my basket a couple of months ago - too big but was the only decent one available at the time, so thought I’d reserve it ‘just in case’. I’ve been checking back weekly, but no change. I’ve just been to M&S today and they have loads of nice smaller turkey crowns in stock (with decent sell by dates), so I’ve bought one there instead. Ocado have been rubbish this year - loads of the M&S party food has not been in stock recently, and some of the things I saw today are not available at all on Ocado.

I was annoyed when Ocado moved from Waitrose to M&S, even more so now the stock situation is so poor. And I’ve just noticed that things I thought I bought ‘on offer’ (eg 3 for 2), don’t seem to be on offer any more… but are on offer in the M&S store? Considering cancelling my order!

mynameiscalypso · 20/12/2024 19:09

We had a small but successful Waitrose order yesterday. Ocado is coming on Sunday morning but I'm not hopeful. Which is a bugger because there's stuff in there that I need to cook with for Sunday lunch.

NovemberMorn · 20/12/2024 19:21

I got sick of the dates being almost up, Ocado was better than Asda, but Ocado was often late.

I have given up and gone back to shopping myself.

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 20/12/2024 19:24

My Christmas Tesco order came today. 1 sub (parsnips subbed for carrots - along with the carrots I’d already ordered) and 2 unavailable (cocktail sausages and a pack of fancy pre prepared sprouts)

Not too bad really.

Laiste · 20/12/2024 20:08

God - fingers crossed for Sun morn.

I had £90 of clubcard points saved up and fondly imagined this would pay for all the whole shop. ie: xmas food (5 adults) ...

to date we're at £135 and rising with loo roll, milk and other foods being added - because strangely the family seem to think they're also going to need to eat and generally exist on sunday and monday, and friday and saturday?

These are days i have no interest in !!!
🤔😂

Inextremis · 20/12/2024 20:11

Tesco.ie click 'n collect today - all present and correct, no substitutions, plus they gave us a box of Christmas goodies last week (crisps, drink mixer, spice bag mix and a few other things) so I currently love them :)

BCBird · 20/12/2024 20:13

Just had Ocado shop. No missing items. It was just my usual shop, nothing christmassy.

48wheaties · 20/12/2024 20:35

Just had Ocado shop. Only subbed croissants with M&S ones, which are equally good. Everything else fine. Not particularly Christmassy things. Loads of snacks for the teens who'll be eating me out of house and over the next week, and I refuse to do loads of cooking everyday!

Ginkypig · 20/12/2024 20:58

Not due until Monday so don’t know yet. The food to order stuff will definitely be delivered so I know that the main joint of meat and the dessert is definitely going to be there.

I like to finish it and then not open the basket again as soon as possible because if you do and something is not available it gets removed from the basket but I hope that somehow it’s prioritised and frozen in time if I finish it then don’t touch it again. 😳

im annoyed because I forgot washing up liquid but I am out tomorrow so I’ll pick it up if I remember!

How did you get that?

LER83 · 20/12/2024 21:09

Got Waitrose on Tuesday which was all Christmas bits, no subs or missing items. Sainsburys today, only 2 subs - shower gel & paracetamol so nothing major. My mum got a Tesco order today and nothing missing so we are doing well! Only thing I can't get anywhere is Hot Chocolate powder!

Oldnproud · 20/12/2024 21:17

I was making up my Tesco order today ready for delivery on Sunday, but there were loads of items out of stock. Maybe some of those will be back in before tomorrow's deadline, but it's highly likely that other things on my list will become unavailable in that time.
I don't remember so many missing items in previous years.

Good evening from Copenhagen! DD and I are full of delicious Lebanese food from a lovely place we found near our hotel. I am currently hitting the espresso machine big time, but need to stop otherwise I will not sleep tonight. Our hotel is beautifully Danish and very eco friendly.

Hope everyone is well. Happy Friday.

Sorry wrong thread.

RightOnTheEdge · 20/12/2024 21:28

I got my delivery from Tesco this evening no substitutions and nothing unavailable, surprisingly.

ChipsnGraveee · 20/12/2024 21:30

Ours isn’t coming until Monday but every time I log on to add something there’s at least two more things gone out of stock 😩

daffodilandtulip · 20/12/2024 21:33

Sainsburys yesterday, no subs and just one thing with a short date that I froze. They accidentally gave me a gammon joint double the size of the one I paid for though...

Will brave Aldi for some nice bread and breakfast pastries next week, but otherwise, all good!

404ErrorCode · 20/12/2024 21:34

I got my Asda today, 4 substitutions, but was a huge shop so not bad.

Only booked it yesterday, so got lucky with a last minute slot. Just have to hide all the nice bits from the kids now!

RedRiverShore5 · 20/12/2024 21:35

I have Waitrose booked 7-8 am Christmas Eve so hoping it's ok as it will be picked before the masses descend on the shop and buy everything, there are only 3 of us so I could improvise if bits are missing. Ocado delivered yesterday and it was all there but I'm not having them on Christmas as delivery is much more expensive than Waitrose, I have a free trial pass but Christmas isn't included.

Doggymummar · 20/12/2024 21:39

I cancelled my Waitrose order yesterday as more than half was out of stock. Got an Ocado slot for 6 am Sunday morning and a Tesco's one on Monday and Tuesday, thank god I checked the Waitrose though as I placed it in November but they don't seem to reserve it for you like Ocado do.

Growlybear83 · 20/12/2024 22:07

My Ocado delivery is coming on Monday evening but you've got me worried now, OP. I don't know when I last had a missing or substituted item with Ocado, but I never book a Christmas Eve delivery just in case something is missing and I have to rush off to Waitrose.
