Over hyped, culturally oblivious, problematic as fuck.

The one positive I could say about it is that I (grudgingly) admire that it represents people's desire to help one another however that doesn't cancel out why I hate it.

I agree Thomasina. That and Fairytale of New York are equally shite. I used to loathe Stop The Cavalry by Jona Lewie but I must have mellowed in the last 44 years because it doesn't bother me any more. I wouldn't say I like it quite.

Holly Jolly Christmas. Really don't like it. I like most of the over played oldies. Anything new anyone tries to bring out, is just never quite the same. I dont think i've liked a new Xmas song since the darkness.

All of them! Why are we still being forced to listen to something a bunch of 70s hippies tossed off in five minutes for the Top of the Pops 1971 Christmas special? Why??

It’s ‘War is Over…if you want it’. IE if everyone in the world really wanted to have peace instead of ever-continuing wars, we'd have peace. But they clearly don’t.

Cannot stand Holly Jolly Christmas by Kelly Clarkson (think thats her name?) its just a silly song that doesnt make any sense. Also cant stand Drummer Boy by Bowie and the old man. Its time to let some songs go... its 2024 for goodness sake!

I hate the Mariah song too! "All I want for Christmas is for my married record company boss boyfriend to leave his wife for me", which he did. She paid a high price I suppose but fuck off with the song. I like to sing alternative words to that effect.

I enjoy Eartha Kitty's Santa Baby as it sounds sarcastic and as a long term dieter I always think of "think of all the food that I haven't eaten".

Last Christmas by Wham, George Michael's voice is fabulous but that song is dreadful. Baffles me why everyone loves it so.
