I particularly loathe all I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey

Baby It's Cold Outside is NOT in any way a Christmas song! It is one of my favourite songs though.
I can't stand any actual Christmas songs, apart from Santa Baby which I adore.

I love most of them, but one I don't care for is Driving Home for Christmas.

My favourite is probably A Spaceman Came Travelling by Chris De Burgh.

Currently on radio two adverts are using A Partridge in a Pear Tree.
I find the repetition in the song irritating, like 10 Green Bottles.

Sung by Frank Sinatra over a GI being executed as a deserter. Based on Eddie Slovik in real life.
I can't hear the song without seeing it, so be warned if you watch. It's not gory but very moving. I'm a mess now having watched it again.

Little donkey brings back traumatic memories of playing the back end of the donkey in a donkey suit in a primary school nativity and having to sing that song into the arse of my classmate playing the head end 🤢

Mistletoe and Wine has surely got to be the worst ever.

But TBH I prefer proper carols to nearly all of them - unless those carols are sung by ‘celebs’ with breathy voices, trying to put ‘expression’ into them.

Proper choirs only and not mucked about, thank you.

Lonely this Christmas. I hate the sub-Elvis crooning and the spoken bit in the middle. Makes me CRINGE! 😬

The magic has long since gone

The Lizzo one from last year or the year before. I don't know why but it just made me angry every time it came on. I always think the newest ones are a marketing ploy to just make some royalties having it on a Christmas album each year once nobody is bothered about you (a la "about a boy").
I don't mind the older ones as it just reminds me of watching top of the pops 2 at Christmas with my parents. They're just a sign that Christmas is here.
Not the Lizzo one though.

Hey Mister Christmas by Showaddywaddy is seldom played on the radio. It's fairly inoffensive but would be better without the children's choir. It's nearly fifty years since it charted.

Don't mind Mistletoe and Wine until the kid at the end sings 'a time to rejoice in the good dat we see'. Why oh why use the version when he doesn't even sing it right

Edited to add the only one I don't mind is 'Mary's boy child'.

I like most of them, but a few are a bit tedious.
