What’s a “small” change that hit you harder than it should have?

I’m still gutted about the recipe change for Robinsons Summer Fruits Refreshed. That was one of my absolute favourites, and Ribena Strawberry was right up there too, but I just can’t get into the new versions at all. I also never got over the switch they made to Robinsons Fruit & Barley Summer Fruits. Anyone else have a “small” change like this that just hit a little harder than expected? What have you been gutted about that's really not a big deal to others?

When Gregg's changed the vegetable pasty... Was lovely then they completely changed it... Just horrible.

MyWashingGotDarkedOnAgain · 16/11/2024 17:54

I miss Trio biscuits
Why oh why did Crosse and Blackwell stop making the beautiful Pea and Mint soup. It was gorgeous. I don't eat meat so all ya pea and ham sh1t can piss off.
Definitely YES to clusters! I loooooooved them!

Heinz tomato soup, used to love it, now cant stand it.

Agree..new stuff gives me heartburn, also, while i'm here, M&S used to do a Turkish type of flatbread with pomegranate seeds, I got my whole family on it & all of a sudden, gone...why do they do this to us??

NPET · 16/11/2024 17:57

This is probably going to be banned (a heads-up to the banners!) but I can't resist. A "small" change - well my sister alerted me to it - I'm referring to our brother, whom she recently saw in the bath.... OK I won't continue.... but it was the "small" in quotes which made me laugh out loud...

Removing Worchester sauce french fries. To be honest that broke my heart and Im still not over it.

Really?? I thought they were just hard to find. Gutted if it’s true!

Weird, blinding head lights on vehicles.

They changed the colour of the street lights on my road from orange to white a few years back and I'm honestly still livid about it.
Literally no one else has noticed. My DH didn't notice till i pointed it out
It bothers me so much abd it also bothers me that it bothers me lol
I HATE the white light.
Outraged the council can just change the colour of the night time without asking.

THIS. They changed the one right outside my bedroom window. I have blackout blinds so I can't even see it 🤣. It gets me so mad 😠 😡

Dior Addict perfume. They ruined it with the reformulation (12 years ago).

Yes! This was my all time favourite perfume and they made it so weak :(
Also gutted that Angel Muse was discontinued.

I prefer the white streetlights to orange as it looks more like moonlight, I quite enjoy that on a dark dog walk

SpiritOfEcstasy · 16/11/2024 18:14

Sensodyn Pronamel - was white, now it’s blue. Which is fine unless you have a ND teen that won’t use any other toothpaste 🤦🏼‍♀️ The Paxo stuffing recipe change. This isn’t a small change it’s a big one … but Low Traffic neighbourhoods in London. Routes that I’ve always taken are now closed…and the alternative routes are so much longer and more convoluted 😞

When Carte Noire stopped. The company changed hands and L'Or is similar but not the same.

@WahWahWahs I felt the exact same way when I opened a tin of Quality Street the other day. Everything seemed to have hint of orange and the purple one was gone Easter Sad.

The purple one was gone? 😱

Every Christmas I yearn for a proper tin of 1970s Quality Street, with foil wrapped chocolates with cigar bands on them.

Happily driving along at a perfectly safe speed of 30mph and having to drop down to 20mph and feel a fool as grannies walking along the pavement are faster than you!

But when you get back into a 30 mph zone after this it feels like 🏎️ 💨💨🏁

JILL21 · 16/11/2024 18:22

ecover washing liquid and fabric conditioner, used it for about 15 years until they got bought out. I couldn’t stand the new scents. I’ve also used there dishwasher tabs for about 20+ years and got a new box recently and the new scent in that is disgusting, so cheap and nasty, so that’s the end of those too. If anyone has any alternative suggestions, let me know. I hate change and all of these have hit me hard 😂😴

LOVETHISCHAT · 16/11/2024 18:23

Where’s the rest of my toilet roll Waitrose? New one on the left is 1cm in diameter narrower, shorter by 5mm and the tube is larger than the old one on the right too!

The discontinuation of Sure Cool Blue Quick Dry roll on deodorant. It's the only scent I have pleasant.

Ahh yes, the only roll on I liked. Discontinued because of the alcohol, which I presume made it quick dry, bloody health and safety!

Acqua Di Gio perfume. 'Oh sir, it's discontinued but Acqua Di Gioa is exactly the same, she'll love it'...

@gokartdillydilly - I think they still have some online at The Fragrance Shop - https://www.thefragranceshop.co.uk/armani/acqua-di-gio/sb/7056?utm_source=affiliate&utm_medium=rakuten&utm_campaign=2616040:Top+CashBack&utm_content=10&utm_term=uknetwork&ranMID=43488&ranEAID=z6BIKIwQ3BY&ranSiteID=z6BIKIwQ3BY-D37EK_Nc5jFB2g66.YoUDA

The original Yves Saint Laurent Opium perfume, loved it the 80's, felt like a goddess wearing it. They changed the formulation around 2009? Now it barely lasts 3 hours on me. I curse myself for not buying more of it before it changed; it had so much depth and complexity, I could smell it on my clothes for days. Now it's so weak, I'm just trying to use it up so I can find something else. DH bought me 2 bottles of it on the ferry, but it's got no staying power on me. The original Opium was an absolute beast, I know it wasn't to everyone's taste, but most perfumes now are sweet, sickly fruit or food smells. If anyone can recommend something similar to Opium, spicy, amber, woody, I'd appreciate it!

They taste stale to me now too.

tommyhoundmum · 16/11/2024 18:31

Cadbury's chocolate buttons still taste the same.

There seems to be two versions of Fairy Liquid for sale. One is weaker.

Do you want to go back to higher numbers of injuries and deaths?

The thread was about small things, not road deaths.

Edited

No-one does. But driving home from work at 9pm the other night, our nearby small town was deserted. Mine was the only car on the well lit road. I crawled along at 20mph then turned into our winding, pitch black lane and the signs told me 40mph was OK. I didn't because I had no wish to kill any small things. But really?

SliceoCakeAuntSally1 · 16/11/2024 18:33

Chocolate bars! All now so thin and disappointing😩😩

wooda180 · 16/11/2024 18:37

I'm still mad at Jamie Oliver for turkey twizzlers. Yes they were full of crap and oh so bad for you but once in a while was never a problem. The new ones they brought out were awful

ImagineImagine · 16/11/2024 18:46

Heinz beans and sausages recently changed the sausages to Richmond sausages. I now can’t eat them as they now contain gluten. ( I have coeliac disease) 😤
