Went to IKEA today... hardly any trolleys in the trolley bay .. but just manage to get last one.
I put my walking stick in the trolley.
Needed loo.. went to disabled loo..( l have a stoma). left my trolley outside with my walking stick in.. thinking surely no one will take my trolley.
Comes out of loo and trolley is gone.
Asks the security guy and a member of staff I'd they had seen it/ moved it.. they hadn't.
So l start walking... to look for it..
See a woman in the next section pushing my trolley .. with some items she had put in.
I explain she has my trolley with my walking stick in.
She looks at me like I'm mad but doesn't say a word. Takes out my walking stick and hands it to me.
I say.. " can you please take your items out of my trolley and let me have it back please".
She huffs and puffs.. but doesn't speak. Put her items into her friends trolley and pushes my trolley to me so hard it bangs into me.

It obviously was being used by someone who had gone to the toilet so she shouldn't have taken it. But not even that she stole your walking aid!

Pretty sure you can't fit a trolley inside a cubicle.

If it was empty I would agree with you. But it wasn't and it wasn't even IKEA stuff in it but someone else's personal property.

You left the trolley unattended and a walking stick is not a right to claim it as being yours.

The woman took it believing it had been discarded.

She gave it back to you when you told her what has happened.

Hardly worth creating a big drama out of it.

In future, go to the toilet before collecting a trolley.

She thought someone had discarded their walking stick after being magically healed by IKEA Jesus and thought she could maybe take it home with her?

I didn't abandon it.
I left it there with my stick in.. while l used the loo...to let people know it was a trolley being used...

The trolley thief was totally in the wrong.

I had this recently in IKEA. Was half way round the marketplace with several items in my trolley. Parked it at end of aisle to get some bits, came back and trolley was gone.

A staff member helped me look for it but said it happens all the time. People forget to get a trolley, can’t be bothered to go back and just take someone else’s!! He found the contents of my trolley dumped on a nearby display. So bloody rude!!

I actually can't people there are people siding with the trolley thief. Can only assume they have same selfish attitude.

People really are arseholes sometimes, sorry you encountered one today.

Go to toilet before collecting a trolley?
Do you have a stoma?.. do you go to loo when you don't really need to.. just in case?
Get real and educate yourself.

This. With certain medical conditions, you have to access a loo urgently.

Regardless of whether the trolley looked abandoned, in spite of the walking stick, she was wrong to push it at you.
