So the new leader of the tory party will be a woman that wants to cut maternity pay who loves the culture war rubbish and Robert who painted over a cartoon in an immigration centre. Who wants us out kf the echr because who need human rights lol
The conservative party is now like the reform party them two are very much to the right of the party
So with that choice I can't see tories getting back in in 5 years time. Most people are on the centre doesn't bother me as I loath tories but we do need an opposition

I think that Kemi will win.

Prob but in interviews she doesn't do very well and if we'll you r racist etc and you like tough politicians to the right then u wont vote for her in 5 year time. She appeals to that side of the party but reform take that side to

I hope the Tories never get back in. I've seen KT get a lot of support on the Feminism board before - clearly being right wing is more important than women's rights. I couldn't take Board seriously after that. So if enough of the faux feminists and the usual non-discerning working class types vote to shout themselves in the foot then I guess it will matter that KT leads I suppose.

Kemi will win and her maternity proposal will get dropped when it gets thrashed out

titchy · 09/10/2024 17:27

The members voted for Liz Truss rather than an Asian man. They won't vote for a black women when there's a white man to choose.

Afriendwithbreastsandalltherest · 09/10/2024 17:29

The same party that has had an Asian prime minister?

Hyperion100 · 09/10/2024 17:30

Kemi wants to promote the family unit but remove maternity rights and reduce minimum wage - makes perfect sense.

She will be a disaster for women.

Even if they do that mass of voters that like reform won't like her really because as you say they are racist. I think this will split that side of the vote now in 5 years time

Coronated by the Parliamentary party after they had deposed the membership's preference.

Rishi was selected by MPs. Not members after the disaster of their last choice Liz Truss. And now they're getting to choose again!

@titchy , it never ceases to amaze me how misunderstood the Conservative mindset is by those on the left. Kemi is hugely popular with the party faithful. I really hope she wins and if she does just watch her wipe the floor with two tier Keir at PMQs 😂. In any case we will have a proper Conservative as leader whoever wins. 🎉🎉🎉

I don’t think the members got a choice with that one, the whole thing is a bit of a blur but wasn’t it left to the MPs to make that choice because they had to move fast what with the pickle they got themselves into (and the batshit decisions the members kept making)?

Conservative party members have a death wish.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2024 17:42

Whoever wins has Reform on their heels and it'll be the same old story all over again as it was with UKIP ( and massive arguments over the ECHR , which will be the new brexit arguments)

I proudly voted Reform. 😁 but will vote Conservative again when we have a Conservative leader again. Can’t wait!

DramaLlamaBangBang · 09/10/2024 17:43

They managed to burn through 5 prime Ministers since 2016 in office. I wouldn't bank on whoever wins thus being the same person being leader in 5 years' time.

Yes can tell because starmer doesn't affect judges doing sentences to your rioting mates so calling him two tier is just plain stupid

@Hunnymonster1 , I have no ‘mates’ that riot and as always people who vote differently to those on the right completely misunderstand us.
