I think we all paid quite enough to be lied to the first time around.

Zonder · 24/10/2024 07:36

Good point @bombastix

@blossomtoes is it a certain poster with standards?

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/10/2024 07:51

Sadly, Boris won’t care too much because he’s got the £2million advance. It’ll be HarperCollins that lose out but they should have known better. I mean who is going to read a memoir by a known liar and bullshitter

The Atlantic article for anyone that hasn't heard Trump wants the kind of Generals Hitler had.

In other news - Disposable vapes banned from next June.
As an ex smoker, ex vaper I'm pleased about that.

But VAT on school fees!🤣

I think it is someone else, but not sure whom?

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2024 09:30

It's the one with capital letters, it's a thread in politics.

The final canard is that Johnson is a good writer. He is an amusing journalist. Give it ten years and that book will be another piece of evidence of his lightweight abilities and the failure of the Tory Party to understand that he would poison them and their future.

Gotcha. I recognise that writing style.

It's hardly "A History of the English Speaking Peoples" is it ?

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2024 11:35

Is he still writing a book about Churchill, the reason he missed Cobr meetings?

Boris book about Churchill has to be written as a permanent testament to how much better Boris was than Churchill. So quite a lot of imagination needed.

Hahahaha!

newnamethanks · 24/10/2024 11:49

"Churchill was good at some stuff but not as good as me". Signed, BJ. That will be £25 please.

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/10/2024 12:00

Looking at the numbers not even all the Tory membership want to pay £30 to be lied to by Boris. Although it’s possible the Nads has 41,000 of the 42,000 sold in the first week.

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2024 12:02

I wonder if Clav paid full price, she said she was going to buy the book.

Tommy Robinson’s lawyer is applying to have the arrest warrant set aside. Got to stay relevant if you don’t get the publicity you want somehow I suppose.

If so I have doubts as to her Conservative nature. After all, a Conservative knows how to manage money and get a good price.

I thought that was his book on Shakespeare. I might have misremembered.

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/10/2024 12:27

I thought it was Shakespeare. Possibly he has 2 books he isn’t writing.

RafaistheKingofClay · 24/10/2024 12:30

He has written a Churchill one. That’s already been published years ago. It was the Shakespeare one he was writing instead of COBR and that’s still MIA.

DuncinToffee · 24/10/2024 12:31

Just checked and it was indeed Shakespeare.

Like most of Johnson's output, it'll be much ado about nothing.
