Rayner vs Dowden at PMQs today

So when is Oliver Dowden allegedly going to seek the Stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds?

Final must be so pissed off they’ve strung the contest out this long. 😂

UK-GERMANY DEFENCE DEAL With Russian aggression raging in our continent & interfering in democratic events across the West, the Trinity House Agreement is a meaningful step towards more formal & mutually beneficial cooperation with our European allies.

I'm waiting for the "kick in the teeth for our brave veterans" comments. My DDad, who fought in WW2, was totally over the anti-German thing by the 1970s - but never got over his distrust of generals, politicians and journalists.

Maybe we need a massive benefit gig to help them ?

Our local pub as a tiny little room at the back that seats 8. Will that do as a venue?

RafaistheKingofClay · 23/10/2024 15:30

8 Might be too big.

HUGE: Nigel Farage used £33,000 of UK donor cash to support Trump in the US election Under US law, the travel expenses of a volunteer are considered a donation to the party they work for if they exceed $1,000 (£770) in one election.

Oops.

My WWll veteran dad wouldn’t have felt kicked in the teeth. He loved Germany and drove Volkswagens for as long as I can remember.

You kicked my response 😂😂

itsgettingweird · 23/10/2024 16:23

Nicked even 🤦‍♀️

itsgettingweird · 23/10/2024 16:24

Yeah I'm waiting for the kick backs about the Germany deal.

People forget Hitler wasn't Germany anymore than Johnson and Truss are the UK and Trump was America!

They are just complete twats people who happens to govern those counties for too long a while

SerendipityJane · 23/10/2024 16:44

Wasn't Hitler Austrian ?

And Boris Johnson is correctly "American" (as was Churchill) even if he has chosen not to be. Something quite a few Americans would take umbrage at if they knew.

At this point in time, it's unclear if Truss is human, let alone of any particular country.

DuncinToffee · 23/10/2024 20:59

Well that was weird Blossomtoes 😂

Wasn’t it? There’s the beginning of a vendetta going on there. I seem to be catnip to some right leaning posters. 😂

Surely it's more likely to be the same poster.

I think you’re right. I suspect there’s been a recent name change.

Willowkins · 23/10/2024 21:37

I hope it's not me whoever it is. I keep reading all these references to other threads where people say awful things and I'm convinced there's some bad actors among them.

Notonthestairs · 23/10/2024 21:41

The run up to the US election (particularly given the parties involved), the leadership election AND the budget - the atmosphere was always going to febrile.

That said I agree with a tweet from Ian Dunt earlier which words to the effect that everything between now and then (5th Nov) is pretty pointless and will be lost in the mix afterwards.

It's what happens afterwards that matters.

It's a poster who doesn't want to post links or answer questions, quite aggressive as well.

You get pulled in before you realise it as they namechange so often

Spot on. Very goady too.

Ten o clock news. 2 USA generals say Trump is a fascist. So they've noticed at last. Who knew?

DuncinToffee · 23/10/2024 22:34

The Atlantic article for anyone that hasn't heard Trump wants the kind of Generals Hitler had.

In other news - Disposable vapes banned from next June.
As an ex smoker, ex vaper I'm pleased about that.

DuncinToffee · 23/10/2024 22:57

They will also introduce the strengthened Football Governance Bill to the House of Lords tomorrow, which as a football fan I support.
