If HRTQueen was gifted £10,000 by Reform, they would have to keep it. What a shit position to be in.

Really

the appalling hateful comments are ones I have heard about my dad and my family for years over and over again

and I do not expect it to be explained in any way at all by right or left it’s never justified it’s never ok because….

pointythings · 28/06/2024 19:41

@HRTQueen what you're doing is zero sum thinking. Life is infinitely more complicated than that, which is why the two things I listed above can both be true - and are.

Just to be clear: Racist/hate speech is always wrong.

But so is creating fertile ground for it to thrive.

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2024 19:42

Wow - Sunak obfuscated multiple times in that Q&A. And the odd downright lie.

DuncinToffee · 28/06/2024 19:42

Piggywaspushed · 28/06/2024 19:38

And all the tax rise stuff.

Nothing original, just the same script

In fairness to Sunak he wont have actually answered any of those questions - a SpAd will have typed out from the approved script. Face to face interview with Justine would have been an improvement.

Who’d inflict that on her? What’s she done to deserve that?

What does that mean?

user8800 · 28/06/2024 19:54

Interesting...
Ds thinks more like 65 for the tories, but he's a young, hopeful lad 😁
Less than 100 is pretty significant though...

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2024 19:54

I think HRTQueen is saying that Starmer has called it out.

user8800 · 28/06/2024 19:56

So...hang on...this poll was conducted before the reported racist bnp/reform debacle?

IClaudine · 28/06/2024 19:57

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2024 19:54

I think HRTQueen is saying that Starmer has called it out.

Yes I took it as that.

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2024 19:54

I think HRTQueen is saying that Starmer has called it out.

But Sunak hasn't except when it affected him directly.

Notonthestairs · 28/06/2024 20:03

Personally I think both Sunak and Starmer should go much further and call Reform a racist party. The abuse levelled at Sunak - and others - won't be a one off.

HannibalHeyes · 28/06/2024 20:13

It's clear the HRT has their own agenda and is refusing to engage, and only wants to push division (irony). It's been spelled out, but they don't want to acknowledge anything that doesn't tally with the message they "want" to put out...

HRTQueen · 28/06/2024 20:21

Yes the point I was making was that racism has to always be called out

not when I agree or don’t agree with someone’s politics (RS I don’t)

It was a remark that should not be given any further comment than that is a vile hateful thing to say it’s not acceptable

but there has been all sorts of reasoning why it has been said 🙄 there is none the comment was racist and if Starmer was brown and PM it would be said about him to

HRTQueen · 28/06/2024 20:23

Push division

oh please 🙄

newnamethanks · 28/06/2024 20:24

Indeed so, the provocation appears to be it's own reward. Farage is on QT audience questions on bbc1 in ten minutes. I'm hoping the audience, Birmingham, put him straight on a few things. The co leader of the Greens has put up a reasonable show, hasn't shouted or lost his temper or talked over Fiona. Must be something wrong with him.

pointythings · 28/06/2024 20:25

It is a perfectly valid social and political point to state that a change of culture that has made open racist speech acceptable has its roots, and that there are people who are responsible for those roots having taken hold. That is ALSO calling out racism.

Reasoning?

When an environment exists where it's acceptable to other people, to promote division etc, don't be surprised when racism happens.

He's promoted division. He's been in a party that thrives on it and he doesn't give a shit about how other people are affected.

HannibalHeyes · 28/06/2024 20:31

Which is exactly what everyone did. They called it out as racism and said it was unacceptable.

However, it doesn't mean that pointing out hypocrisy is unacceptable. To suggest that is, frankly, stupid, and obviously to an agenda.

We see you.

HRTQueen · 28/06/2024 20:33

But the posts do not start that way do they ….

where is the outrage the disgust for his family (if it can’t be for him) its well if the Tories were not like they are we this wouldn’t be such an issue

its actually upsetting if you had heard your own dad called this spat at told to go home I expect you to would have such a reaction where it simply can not be explained away

Rishi getting questioned on gambling?

newnamethanks · 28/06/2024 20:37

Oh no!!! It's all an Establishment Plot to undermine Nige. Who'd have thought it? Fiona's doing well.
