I think a big problem is the black and white view that's portrayed in the media as what we think and why we vote.
So if you don't agree with the Rwanda plan you don't want to stop the boats and want mass "illegal migration".
I ignore the whole "labour wants to allow everyone to come here"
But all of us here have said that yes, we need to stop the criminal gangs profiteering from people who - on the whole - are seeking asylum and are willing to risk their lives on a boat to get a better life. We agree in effect we do need to stop the boats.
I ignore Labour every time they use their sound bite "smash the gangs".
It's just I prefer labour policy of how they intend to tackle the problem and their correct use of asylum seekers means I'm willing to engage in their narrative.
I also am unhappy about the fact no party has or seems willing to access how we are going to tackle the backlog of asylum seekers currently awaiting a decision. That's the Tory's doing. But Labour have said they want returns deals negotiated for those who aren't found to have a genuine claim.
I'm not 100% sure reform is a totally racist party but they know they appeal to the bigoted members of the uk and know their audience and how to get people onboard. But even Farage has said we need some immigration to survive. He just wants more control over how we do this. I'm not a reform fan and will never vote for them as I don't like the party as a whole.
There's absolutely zero nuance nowadays in anything. And I think that's created the issues we have of a huge divide between left and right when we've always been quite a centric country politically.
I might vote tactically for Labour or LD this time around but I prefer Starmer over Davy as for PM. I can see why people are undecided though because I swing between decided and undecided every day!
