Those are all great suggestions. In the same vein:

Sunak: Tories a-flutter.

Going to Salisbury and telling them how good Putin is perhaps a little tone deaf.

Although I see the excuse for Farage’s comments is that he was saying he admired the way he runs the country not him as a person. Presumably he thinks murdering the opposition and any dissenting voices is not an issue.

That's exactly what I thought.

Of all the places to spew such clap trap 🤦‍♀️

itsgettingweird · 24/06/2024 20:36

Can I vote for "William Hill to die on"

Love them all but that's hilariously genius!

itsgettingweird · 24/06/2024 20:37

Also sorry to hear about all the stories of an and e and lack of medical care. Flowers

Literally they don't care.
I'm almost as disappointed by the fall of FWR as I am by brexit 😞

I have this fantasy - and maybe it's not such a fantasy - whereby, once in power, Labour passes some completely reasonable legislation that recognises the rights of trans people whilst stating that a trans woman is not biologically a woman, and protects principles like transpeople being unable to compete in women- or men-only sports as the opposite natal gender, and protecting women-only spaces. I suspect no-one on FWR would be mollified as such legislation wouldn't prevent trans people from existing, but because they wouldn't dare say so they would collectively explode.

SerendipityJane · 24/06/2024 20:49

It would be incredibly impressive if Starmer said to Rish! "Either you sort this betting scandal by Wednesday, or we will commission a thumbscrews and all independent inquiry on July 5th. I hope that's not too decisive for you."

BIossomtoes · 24/06/2024 20:58

Two excellent fantasies I can completely get behind.

That's what I've always wanted too. 🤞

Well, we could be inspired by actual Tory hopeful, James Cracknell and simply call the Tories ' a shower of shit'

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/jun/24/tories-are-a-shower-of-shit-says-conservative-candidate-james-cracknell

This is an Andy Street style "vote for me, I'm not really a Tory Tory" pitch.

I mean hopefully it's true but....he's a Tory

He sounds like he’s surprised by the fact that the Tories might be less than honest.

William Hill to die on is also my favourite of the suggestions. They are all great though.

prettybird · 24/06/2024 21:24

@Scruffily - that's pretty much my fantasy. I couldn't give a fuck how someone presents and no one should be discriminated against for their beliefs and identity. However, sex based sports and sex based rights have been hard fought for and shouldn't be compromised - nor the waters muddied in identifying relevant statistics. Biology does matter.

My concern about the dialogue being driven by some TRAs is that women/feminism/femininity has had the consequence that women are being pushed back into pink, fluffy silos where they are defined by their lookz and feelz Hmm. No room for tomboys, for example (I'm old enough to remember the tomboy Lego ad - when they still believed in all Lego being equally for boys and girls).

Yes, why can no party actually vocalise this though?
I was listening to WA this afternoon catching up and there was a whole section about Labour taking away the need to see 2 people to change sex on legal documents and dropping the need to have lived for 2 years as the sex being changed to. It doesn't sound similar in any way to what we all seem to want.
Edit to caveat - I don't have an issue with trans but I do struggle to see why this relaxing of ease of changing the legal documentation is the most pressing part of the debate.

Piggywaspushed · 24/06/2024 21:48

I have never heard of fit to sit but that is what I was made to do when I had Covid. At my A and E there are arms on either side of the chairs to stop anyone lying down (it might not be deliberate design I guess)

They apologised to me after 14 hours of sitting/vomiting/crying/fainting. And because it was Covid A and E there was no one even wandering about. Also no water ever these days.

Once upon a time in A and E you had a bed type thing to lie on. Those were the days.

A nice nurse took me to one and told me I could lie there then another nurse made me go back to the chairs :(

Tbh, if you read the Communist Party stuff, it sounds most like what Cassie and others want!

I was really surprised by this especially when Starmer appeared to listening to women’s fears. All the stuff about safe spaces etc. Previous comments he made seem completely contradictory and it’s disappointing. Dread to think what the FWR are saying about him and the LP.

Piggywaspushed · 24/06/2024 21:53

I really think he is caught between a rock and a hard place. Don't think he could ever provide the 'right' answer, if indeed there is one.

The Green guy was getting a very aggressive hammering form Nick Robinson about this on the Beeb earlier.

I've decided that if those caught up in the gambling scandal are going to remain anonymous, then it's best to assume that it could be any tory and vote accordingly.
I want an honest MP, and they will all be thought to be liars and cheats and thieves in my book.

Looks like Cummings created his own PPE landfill site at public expense, after funding that guy with his own private jet

Oh no, shush, that's The Worst Insult Ever. Noone deserves being called scum. It's far worse than lying to parliament, breaking the law, sexually harassing parliament staff etc.
