Those polls just show how unreliable polls are.

No pollster has ever asked me what I think, or anyone I know.

I think it will be a hung parliament after the next election, But Jeremy Corbyn's puppet has alienated everyone, so Sunak will do a coalition with Reform and Farage will be Prime Minister.

You heard it here first.

😂

bombastix · 19/06/2024 22:02

God I’ve heard it everywhere except the bookies.

53 seats projected for the Tories. Once their vote dips below 20 percent then some of these wild predictions could happen.

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/06/2024 20:46

Going back to the dilemma posted on the previous thread, I'd rather 3 Reform MPs than 1 Frottage.

I think 3 is the magic number for maximum Reform craziness.Grin

3 reform MPs or 1 frottage is tricky.
If it was a very quick fully dressed frottage from a nice looking and smelling man I think I'd prefer that. If it was a frottage from Farage I think I'd rather a whole cabinet full of reform. Not even the country would persuade me 😂

A name change? I like this idea… maybe champagnesocialissimo

May the Lib Dems come second and Farage lose.

Nice name

Apparently there are very strong rumours tonight that CCHQ will tell some candidates tomorrow that their seats are no longer winnable and party resources are to be moved to winnable seats.

They are circling the wagons. Will there be anything left in the circle?

bombastix · 19/06/2024 22:15

Apparently only Badenoch will be left of their leadership contenders. An interesting thought as to what bits of the Conservatives will be left.

BIossomtoes · 19/06/2024 22:17

The Telegraph reckons Badenoch is safe. I really so want to see her lose. According to the same article 21 members of the cabinet, including Sunak, could be gone.

bombastix · 19/06/2024 22:21

@BIossomtoes I am not a fan either but let’s face it the next Tory leader has a terrible job. These polls place them a likely third. Kemi Badenoch I believe has more sense than to pick up what is a loaded gun to her career. Maybe she is brave enough.

BIossomtoes · 19/06/2024 22:28

I’m not bothered about her being leader. I just want to see her furious, petulant face as she loses her seat. Sadly it seems unlikely I’ll get my wish.

bombastix · 19/06/2024 22:30

Well she’s a strange one. Even her own side don’t like her berating them!

TokyoSushi · 19/06/2024 22:34

Oh lovely, the Tory candidate for Bristol North has now also had a little flutter on the election date! 😬

Spandauer · 19/06/2024 22:35

Oh you're running away with me again - need to catch up!
Thanks for the new thread.

Thanks for the new thread. No pet tax, I'm afraid :(

Some interesting pollingdata coming out today 🤔

Postal vote done. I'm posting it tomorrow.

I've voted Labour. Not enthusiastically but...only way to GTTO here.

I feel very meh 😕

It's an odd election, that's for sure. I did see another labour placard today in my village.

Had a few more leaflets - tory, mad independent ex tory, ex reclaim moron and labour.

2 weeks to go....

bombastix · 19/06/2024 22:53

it all feels very flat I agree. I hope people get out to vote despite that.

cakeorwine · 19/06/2024 22:57

I was just thinking about "survivor" bias and what will hopefully happen if the polls come true.

Tories get wiped out - and people like Badenoch "survive" and become leader. But they don't focus on why they lost. And (in my wishful thinking?) it's because many of their traditional voters don't want to vote for them anymore.

So they are focusing on the survivor and she might become Leader but they don't focus on the reasons they lost and instead go more right towards Reform.

And maybe repeat it again in a 2029 election.

I hope that parties revert to the way things were a while ago - where there were no major extremes in beliefs.

I sometimes imagine a semi circle of MPs - instead of an opposite chamber like we have. Imagine those with more similar beliefs in the middle of the semi circle - and then the ones with the further right beliefs go towards the right and the more left ones go further to the left. We seem to be heading towards something where there are going to be just a few Tory MPs but their beliefs might well be somewhere away from the centre ground.

Oh JFC no
When I looked at electoral calculus yesterday Patel looked quite safe. Not sure how much better she would be though

Remember what the did/who they made leader after '97?

tobee · 19/06/2024 23:11

Seems weird to think William Hague is older than Lord Big Dave
