I knew it was too!

We are both very clever 😂

Well said Harman -

"She also called for a women’s caucus made up of female MPs from across the House to support alleged victims when they make complaints.
“We need them to formally come together so when a woman speaks out about a senior man in her own party she is not left vulnerable, but backed up,” she said."

I'm sort of amazed this doesn't exist already.

Morning all. Very occasional poster, long-time lurker, can't find the cat so trawled the archives and decided you can all have the very noble-looking Jake looking out to a new horizon.

Is there a length-limit to names? Thinking of lifesabitchandthenyoudiebutjustoccasionallyalongcomesaonce-in-a-lifetimechancetofeelpositiveaboutthefuture... will that track?

@SippingDownRakiAndReadingMaynardKeynes best name ever, in a land of excellent names. Impossible to read without singing!

edited to add the noble horse's name.

Edited

Oh, how beautiful. I love horses. ❤️

IClaudine · 20/06/2024 07:55

I didn't twig who @Ohanother1goodbye was. I thought it might be that fecking annoying poster who goes on about slipping through back doors!

Although I fear I may have become Grant Shapps.

Do we have to take our cats with us in two weeks time so we can have a photo of them at the polling station?

Edited

I’m taking our dogs. Two weeks today. I’m beginning to get a bit excited.

Well that is a very real danger.

After the excitement of Rish! exercising his reverse midas at every opportunity for the first two weeks of the election campaign, nothing happened last week.

Is anything going to happen in the next two weeks, or are we going to have to entertain ourselves?

There weren't enough ‼️ ‼️ ‼️

And the spelling was correct. Always a giveaway.

Not another one!!

BestIsWest · 20/06/2024 08:20

The Senedd is the same too with a circular design.

Three leaflets here so far, all Labour. One through the door, one in the post from the former MP, one from Labour HQ. I’m a member and have a board up so it seems a bit of a waste! DH reckons that’s why we haven’t had any other leaflets.

Cheguevarahamster · 20/06/2024 08:26

OMG! Could this get any worse..

Chris Mason on Twitter.
I can reveal this morning that the Conservative candidate being looked into by the Gambling Commission over a bet relating to the timing of the general election is married to the party’s Director of Campaigns.

I mean he could have done a Rebecca Vardy type post for fun..

countrygirl99 · 20/06/2024 08:28

Just how stupid do you have to be to do that?

bombastix · 20/06/2024 08:32

It’s just clear from SPACE how bad their candidates are. No political nous at all. They are all terrible at the key aspect of what gets them voted in.

The longer it goes on for the more unpopular they become. I wonder if there will just be a serious scale back, very little of Sunak and trying to find a good communicator to cut through. They had Gove on the radio this morning; he’s not even standing! Desperate

Laura Saunders, the party’s candidate in Bristol North West, has worked for the Tories since 2015.

It is not known when the bet was placed or for how much money.

She is married to Tony Lee, who is the Conservative Party’s Director of Campaigns.

I'm already getting confused about the name changes as some have gone early.

Did anybody in government NOT put a bet on?

pointythings · 20/06/2024 08:43

I had a lib Dem leaflet here, and yet more spam from Nick Timothy, who was trying to scare people by telling us our council was run by Labour. It's not; it's a coalition with rotating leadership and they have made a lot of things better. Big own goal there.

DuncinToffee · 20/06/2024 08:43

Gove on Sky News

"Labour will use that super-majority to rig the system... to give the votes to EU citizens, 16-year-olds & prisoners to make sure they're a forever government.. "

Giving people a voice is now used as a threat?

Has anybody mentioned all the ways the Tories seemed to have fixed things for them in last 14 years? Boundary changes? Voter id etc etc?

tobee · 20/06/2024 08:47

Jeez I just re read that and saw the prisoners bit! All a bit Trumpian

Sound good to me. I think prisoners should have the right to vote.

Notonthestairs · 20/06/2024 08:54

It wasn't that long ago Conservative commentators and politicians were talking about 10 years in power for Johnson.

Then all the headlines were - "Rejoice! Historic Landslide" & "The People's PM".

But when it's not their man the system must be rigged.

Pathetic.

BestIsWest · 20/06/2024 08:56

I think they are trying to lose now.
