Thanks Math Hope the cat sitting went well.

Thanks Death Sorry about you bus pass issues. Its fine to mention any health things, I am completely used to it, just a shame they happen.

Thanks MissC So exciting to have a wedding! I got my results at the appointment for both ultrasound and mammo which were all clear both sides.

Thanks Hilda Hope gardening went well.

Thanks Uman Lovely pictures. Hope you like the Faith in Nature things, our favourite is the rose ones. They are all nice but not found another rose one as good. Floof and Ds also love the rose so I now get 2.5 litre ones from Amazon for my boys.

Hope Havoc and you all are well Havoc

Another A level exam done yesterday so just 2 exams to go and 7 done, one next Tues and one on 20th, both maths. Had education meeting with LA for DS, first step in a very slow process. Did gardening for an hour with DH last night, were constrained as 2 green bins are full and we half filled black one but need to keep the rest. Green ones emptied next wed. Are 2 of them now which helps. Ordered some plants from the RHS to arrive on Tuesday. Will go swimming tonight. Watching Race Around the World on BBC.

Deathraystare · 07/06/2024 16:25

Well this news may be too exciting for you all but.... they are coming about the shower on Monday. Yep not today or the weekend. I have to stink until then!! I exaggerate, I have been doing a full body flannel wash and have today bought some dry shampoo as my hair/scalp very unhappy. It likes attention!!

Here's hoping tomorrow's wedding goes off ok. I am sure it will!

I thought I had to work tomorrow but I don't now. A colleague was going to the Hagg (?spelling) but the company dealing with all the paperwork have buggered about so she cannot go now which leaves her free to work.

I have plenty of tidying up to do at home (yes, yet again!) plus laundry. Thank goodness there is only me to launder for as I would never get on top of it!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/06/2024 17:34

Death, I'd fill some jugs with the hot water and allow to cool to wash my hair, or go to salon for wash and blow out. Regardless, glad to know it's getting addressed. Hope it will be fixed!
Penguinsa, those exams must really put them through the wringer! So glad to hear of your test results. 👍☺️
🩷
How was gardening, Hilda? I must get into mine. 😖

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/06/2024 18:06

Just finished watching some pretty good men's tennis! Alcaraz moving on. The new era is here. 👍

HildaTablet · 07/06/2024 20:37

I’ve been watching the tennis on and off too, Havoc - Roland Garros. I usually get fairly obsessed when Wimbledon starts too. Back in the day I got to go a couple of times and actually saw Navratilova play, right at the end of her career - feel very lucky to have caught that.

I finally took my poor bean plants out and planted them out at the base of the new frame/net, so I hope they’ll be OK. It’s always a tense moment with slugs, weather etc. If the worst comes to the worst there’s still time to plant direct into the soil, but hopefully they’ll survive. Then we'll have more beans than we know what to do with!

Great weather forecast for tomorrow, MissC 🌞🌝 🎊🎉

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/06/2024 21:27

Hilda, amazing you saw her play! I'm also one to get obsessed with the big tourney's. It's funny because I don't play and don't really know the rules/scoring at all, but I love watching it! I also really get into the Tour de France and watch the live coverage even though it's on at 5am our time! 😂

MissConductUS · 07/06/2024 22:06

We've had the rehearsal, which went well. Thank God for the wedding planner!

We had a bit of time to come home and relax and are heading out to the rehearsal dinner shortly. I took these at the church just before we got started. It's huge, so we'll just be in the front part. It was built in 1910, so not terribly old.

Hope the rehearsal dinner is enjoyable, MissC. And lovely to spend time with DD and the bridesmaids getting your nails done, hopefully very relaxing and calming. The church looks lovely. Wishing you all a joyful day tomorrow.

Uman, the book looks amazing. A fantastic concept.

Off to see my feline overlord again this evening. He is a very affectionate pet, formerly feral, now trusting and gentle.

bizzey · 08/06/2024 12:36

Happy Wedding Day wishes MissC 🍾🍾🥂🥂 !!

Wishing your lovely dd and husband to be all the best for their future 💞.

Can't wait for the updates !

I am here ready ! 👒👒😁.

Compash · 08/06/2024 12:40

What a beautiful church, @MissConductUS ! Wishing you a lovely day and all the best for a happy future together. 💐

Umanresources · 08/06/2024 12:41

@Penguinsa saw a site advertised on a shopping channel, after I’d ordered shampoo, conditioner and shower gel from Faith In Nature 😀. The discount site I heard of has lots of daily deals and my goodness today it has faith in nature products. I got so excited and I’ve now ordered some more from DiscountDragon. I was flicking through the TV channels and I heard the presenter mention a local town. The discount channel was started online a few years ago. I can’t believe I’ve only just heard of it. It’s exciting news for me, but I hope it’s boring enough for others!

@MissConductUS wedding day today. How lovely 💒😍🥂 Have a wonderful day.

Compash · 08/06/2024 12:42

@Deathraystare your phrase 'they're coming about...' has tickled my fancy. I shall look for opportunities to slip that into conversation going forward - 'the men are coming about the fence/boiler/election...' and see if my husband notices... 😄

Compash · 08/06/2024 12:44

Actually, 'the men' is too specific... it has to be the vague and ephemeral 'they're coming about...'...

Penguinsa · 08/06/2024 14:42

Hope you DD is having a wonderful wedding day MissC Lovely church.

Enjoy your Faith in Nature things Uman Your home too will soon smell like a florists!

Off to do some gardening with DH. This morning got food for silkies, collected a water bottle and DH got new glasses. Been watching more Race Around the World.

MissConductUS · 08/06/2024 15:49

Welcome, @Compash and thanks for the good wishes.

Hope all is going smoothly MissC and your DD is having a perfect wedding day.

Been gardening for 3 hours with DH.

Had pancakes.

sproutsandparsnips · 08/06/2024 23:19

Church looks lovely Miss - thinking of you.
How annoying about the shower Death!
Havoc hope Havoc is better soon.
IWanderedlonely ah you did not pass near me after all.
We have been to DS2's rugby presentation evening. Such a lovely evening and a great group of boys. DS2 made a speech as outgoing captain, and I was very proud!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 09/06/2024 00:30

Awww Sprouts, sounds like a lovely time. 🥰
Havoc seems better, coughed for 2 days and had "d" 2 days, but seems totally fine since yesterday. Thanks fir the well wishes everyone! 🩷

mathanxiety · 09/06/2024 01:57

Glad little Havoc seems to be on the mend, Havoc.

Hoping the wedding is going well, MissC.

I had to put on sweatpants as our weather went from sunny and pleasant in the morning to rainy and grim all afternoon. I forgot to go and explore the local seasonal farmers' market yet again. Maybe I'll remember it's on by July.

Squirrels tipped over a flower pot on the deck. I can't remember what I had planted there, but whatever it was hadn't germinated yet, so maybe it's a case of no harm, no foul. Bit of a mess though...

It's graduation party season here. There are lots of yard signs congratulating the graduates, and balloons and bunting in the colours of the local high school festooning many a front porch.

Penguinsa · 09/06/2024 06:57

Well done to DS2 Sprouts

Good Havoc is better.

The squirrel sounds as clumsy as Floof Math He knocked my dried flowers off the bedside table yesterday then looked like sorry flowers and put his paw down to try and get them back but just one came.

DH is off to Wembley to vote in the French elections and has just woken up. Floof is by him thinking Dh can make himself useful and go a get a tin of tuna.

MissConductUS · 09/06/2024 11:58

Well done to DS2, Sprouts. I loved going to events like that when the kids were rowing comparatively.

Havoc, so glad to hear you LO is better.

The wedding was fabulous. The ceremony was lovely, and everyone had a great time at the reception. The food was out of this world, just as I expected. And people really danced. Most people had just enough wine to get a bit loose and fun, but no one had too much. DH gave such a lovely father of the bride speech that I cried. But it was a long day. Hair and makeup started at 7:00 AM and we got home around 10:00 PM, the car loaded with their gifts cards, and some of the flowers. DD and her DH (I can finally call him that!) stayed in the bridal suite last night . I'm not sure what their plans are today.

I brought home one of the centerpieces and DD's bridal bouquet, which is in the fridge. She wants to have it preserved. The plate is my chateaubriand with hollandaise sauce, truffled mashed potatoes and green beans. I took a picture of the sunset on the river when I went out to get something from the car.

What a day!

Penguinsa · 09/06/2024 12:31

Glad the wedding was perfect MissC and hope you get a well earned rest now.

HildaTablet · 09/06/2024 13:09

Congratulations on a lovely day, MissC. All the hard work paid off 😊

Umanresources · 09/06/2024 15:20

Congratulations to the happy couple and their families. It sounds like a wonderful day and night for all concerned. Time now to have some down time and relax. Your photos are lovely. The colours of the flowers are absolutely stunning. I am now craving steak for our evening meal, but I’m not sure we have any in, so possibly it will be chicken again. Good job I like it.
The sunset looks like a glorious end to a wonderful day. Good to make memories like this.
