Thanks MissC Beautiful rhododendron, love them. Have a lovely trip.

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:06

Will catch up in a bit 😸!

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:07

Thanks for new thread @MissConductUS x

Penguinsa · 18/05/2024 00:07

Hi Bizzey. I ordered some things from an online store I have a voucher for, but then forgot to use the voucher.

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:09

@Penguinsa ?? !! What !

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:09

Have I asked for something? 😮

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:11

I will have the voucher though if it is going free 😜😜🤣🤣!

As long as it's not millets or some out door hiking palava stuff...or anything that involves physical exhaustion!

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:12

I can cope with a vineyard or chocolate factory ok though !

Penguinsa · 18/05/2024 00:13

Its Cotswold Outdoors so it is a hiking place. 😂

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:17

(desperately scrolling back to see what I have posted on the other thread ...
...did I really mention that I love hiking ...

Nope ....not even after 10 bottles of wine ...ould that have even entered my heed 🤣🤣🤣!)

bizzey · 18/05/2024 00:18

And I am tea and chocolate right now...and I still can't spell 😔! 🤣

Rubyfw5 · 18/05/2024 00:25

I bought a water flosser after advice from my dentist, he didn't tell me which one to buy so chose randomly. It was delivered to my hedge, leaked badly so is going back and I've ordered another one.

Penguinsa · 18/05/2024 00:27

My dentist was also going on and on about water flossers and made me watch a very interesting water flosser video and listen to his talk about how he uses a water flosser.

MissConductUS · 18/05/2024 01:03

Welcome, @Rubyfw5, and thanks for sharing your calming dental hygiene news. I've been using a water flosser for many years, and they really make a big difference. My dentist recommends the Waterpik brand, and mine has been very reliable and never leaks.

We've had homemade pizza for dinner and I've done some ironing. We're going to a fairly dressy restaurant for dinner tomorrow and need to look presentable for graduation on Sunday. DD's fiance is going to attend as well, but has arranged his own lodging and is driving there separately.

Just place marking. Feeding baby then off to Costco before closing.

Deathraystare · 18/05/2024 10:41

@bizzey

Now then Bizzey, you know you love hiking really (pats Bizzey on rump) Go on out you go!

I am shocked, nay appalled! I have only just realised that a pint of milk is now 90p in UK. I refused to get it in Lidl but it was the same price in Sainsbury's. However, I was reading about a woman in Canada (from UK originally) and was shocked at the prices she had to pay. She went to somewhere called Giant and paid around £17 for a chicken and £9 for a net of those round cheese things. Why aren't we rebelling?! This is shocking! I realise I don't often check prices hence my sudden shock but last I heard milk was 51p!!

@Mumtobabyhavoc - well I hope the prices didn't shock you!

MissConductUS · 18/05/2024 11:18

Deathray, food prices here have been up about 21% since 2021. Wages are up as well, so the cost of everything is much higher. We're spending about $250 (about 200 GBP) per guest on food and beverages at DD's wedding reception. The place is quite posh, and their restaurant has a Michelin star, but it's not much more than most places we looked at. It's the new reality.

@MissConductUS , thank you for the welcome. Goodness me that's an expensive wedding but I suspect it will be worth it. Does anyone have any advice on using a water flosser please? I've got a non-leaky one now but the instructions are very minimal!

ZZTopGuitarSolo · 18/05/2024 19:10

Have a fabulous weekend MissC. It looks like the weather will be ok. I saw a video of the parade this morning and it looked lovely.

I have gone through the Dressing Room of Doom where the whole family dumps clothes they aren’t using any more. We now have 4 huge tubs of clothes for Goodwill and a rack of stuff to take to a consignment store to sell. I’ve never done this so not sure how it works or which store to use.

I found a dead mouse in the corner which explains the smell in there.

It was deeply satisfying and I think suitably quiet and mundane for this thread proud

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/05/2024 19:35

Holiday weekend here for Victoria Day. Just been googling things to do. I'll post a pic of a shopping receipt for comparison.

No fireworks here, though.

Here are the last few Costco shops. Homo milk means homogenized (US "full fat") and is a 4 litre, the 2% is a 2 litre, more expensive as lactose-free. You get about 1/4 to 1/3 more for the price at Costco. I also bought a few kids clothing items: baby onsie/sleeper ($8.99) two toddler t-shirt & shorts sets last night ($17.99) and a swim set with long sleeve rashie, shorts and hat ($6.96 v cheap). The price of the strawberries at$11.99 has been that, $12.99 & $13.99 all within the last 6 weeks. Quality has decreased last couple of weeks. Produce quality in general has decreased at Costco. Reg grocery stores are outrageous and I usually go to those for small quantities of items.I'm noticing better produce quality there, though. I'm due to buy meat soon, so if I remember will share those receipts.

We've just had a lovely night away in Ashbourne. Lovely little town and a gorgeous old church. Ate too much (as usual!)

MissConductUS · 18/05/2024 21:02

We made it and have checked into our hotel after having lunch with DD and her FH and doing a bit of shopping.

Re the water flosser never tiurn it on unless the tip is in your mouth. There are probably videos on YouTube.

ZZ, it's lovely here and very busy.
