Math, 16,000??? 😂😂😂 I'd say it was time to purge! 👍
Penguinsa, sounds like you're on a roll, too! 😃
Miss, way to go for staying calm. 🤗

Did a quick Costco run. Now having a snack and scrolling. (And being somewhat amused at the constant typos I make due to damaged phone. Lime=like if you see it btw)😂 Weather quite pleasant here. Bit of high cloud. Sunny. Temp 21c.

I have an office !

Of sorts 😁😂..

All box files/important documents/stuff that needs to be on hand ..
Is all sitting proudly on a desk in
" ds1's " room !

It will still always be his room ...but well.. needs must 😁!

I am struggling to even remember what any temperatures above 18C feels like at the moment!

Not complaining too much though as 33C would be too much for me !

I have a funeral to go to next week and am struggling to decide what to wear .

What I need for warmth ...just doesn't feel right for an end of June day 😔.

Will be a tough week next week .

Love that we have 2 lovely cats in competition for our live though 😍..

how can Floof be 1.2m when I am only 1.5m !!!

bizzey · 14/06/2024 00:11

See Havov ...i ended up with "live " instead of "love " as well !

Was going to edit..but thought I would show what I did .

I think my eyes are misaligning on my phone !

I really thing I am tapping the correct letter...but it always comes out as the letter next to it !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/06/2024 01:01

Bizzey, I often spend just as long correcting as I do typing post. 🤦‍♀️

Penguinsa · 14/06/2024 10:21

Floof is a huge boy but the 1.2 metres does include the tale and a lot of him is just fluff. This is him on a double bed and him on bedside table.

Floof is a gorgeous boy (but of course he knows this!!)

Penguinsa · 14/06/2024 12:59

Thanks Death He loves compliments and sits their bouncing his tail blinking at you as if to say I agree I am beautiful, thank you for reminding me and can I have more compliments. 😻

Just cleaned the house a bit and had a home visit for id checks for DS but thankfully only needed us. The man complimented Floof and the house and was nice.

Now having lunch, a chicken mayo, avocado and sweetcorn sandwich.

DandyDandylion · 14/06/2024 13:14

My dull news for today is that I’ve just stuck some henna temporary hair dye on and am waiting till I can rinse it off. Oh and my feline overlord DandyCat is fine and dandy today. I expected some blood or dribble after I collected him but there has been nothing and he won’t stop purring. Daft bugger.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 14/06/2024 20:25

Hello, Floof, you handsome boy! Long time, no see! How have you been? 😃
Nice to hear DandyCat is doing well, DandyLion.

Had Havoc to last day of school today despite my 4 hours sleep. 😵‍💫Stupidly had a latte with cake last night and I suspect that was preventing me from falling asleep. I did laundry/hung it up, put away another load, sorted sock bin and threw away a couple pairs and an old shirt, (I'm unaware of textile recycling here, so must look into), put a couple more items of Havoc's aside for donation (have 3 1/2 boxes so far) and wrote in journal for baby for about 2 hours/6 pages of updates. Baby's latest is staring at me, smiling, then grabbing my nose and laughing. Baby humour!!! 🥰

MissConductUS · 14/06/2024 21:32

Floof, it's good to see that you are as majestic as ever.

Dandy, your boy is still in pain. He's have to be after having all of those teeth pulled. Cats sometimes purr as a way of self-soothing when they are hurting. You might ring the vet if they are open on Saturday and see if they recommend any pain relief for him.

I've booked a time tomorrow morning for DH, DS, and me to go to the farm and pick cherries. This is the closer farm that I like better, not the one we picked strawberries at recently. It's still a lovely 40-minute drive through the countryside to get there.

Sunday is Father's Day here. The posh Italian supermarket has live lobsters on sale for $6.99 per pound, so we may get some tomorrow or on Sunday.

He’s on metacam, @MissConductUS and he’s slept most of the day. They do open on a Saturday but said as long he doesn’t drool, bleed or have stomach upset they’d rather leave him to recover before they open up his mouth to poke around.

Disneydatknee88 · 14/06/2024 22:09

We are bringing our puppy home this Sunday!! I absolutely adore my sis in laws cocker spaniel and she had a litter of pups 8 weeks ago. We have been counting down the days. We've been to visit every weekend since the pups were 4 weeks old so have bonded with her lots. I'm so excited. We have a busy day of cleaning and puppy proofing the house tomorrow.

MissConductUS · 15/06/2024 00:15

Welcome, @Disneydatknee88, and thanks for sharing your new puppy news! Hide your shoes. They love to chew on shoes. It's so exciting to welcome a new pet into your home.

Dandy, good to hear about the metacam. That will help with the inflammation as well as the pain.

A line of thunderstorms is moving through, but the weather looks good for cherry picking tomorrow. DH is going to go out to buy the lobsters first thing in the morning as they often sell out at that price.

Cocker spaniels are adorable. When I was a child, a neighbour had a pair of them, and it was the highlight of our day if we happened to be out playing when they were taken for their walkies. The neighbour allowed us to pat them and they rewarded us with slobbery licks and - so we believed - smiles in their beautiful brown eyes. Lola wore a little pink collar and Pepe wore a blue one. Their tan and white coats were immaculately groomed. Whenever I see ballroom dancing on TV, I think of them.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 15/06/2024 06:55

What a lovely vivid memory, Math. 🥰

MissConductUS · 15/06/2024 19:19

It's a lovely summer day here. We had a nice drive to the farm. The cherries are very sweet this year and perfectly ripe. We picked three quarts, but they keep well in the fridge and are great for snacking. One quart was still in the car when I took the picture.

After picking, we stopped in at their farm store and got scones, blueberry bread, and apple caramel bread. We also bought two heirloom tomatoes, which I love sliced with a little oil and balsamic vinegar.

I received a short video from DD of her at a zoo in Japan. She seems to be having a fine time. They're traveling from city to city, spending a few days in each location.

Had a great Saturday. Went to see some friends and their children. Walked dogs in the sun/rain. Ate home made soup. Chatted for hours.

DS went off and joined their tribe of children and had a great time. Enjoyed the green hills driving there and back.

DH had made a big batch of veggie spag bol so all we had to do was cook spaghetti and tick in when we got home.

DandyDandylion · 15/06/2024 21:42

@MissConductUS i am in awe of your haul. Here in England it hasn’t stopped raining for what feels like forever so the idea of picking fruit at a farm seems unlikely. We used to have a local pick your own farm but it closed recently. I have lovely childhood memories of eating strawberries fresh from the fields. Then as a teen I was paid to pick them for the shop. It always seemed to be sunny then.

MissConductUS · 15/06/2024 23:23

Your Saturday sounds lovely, @Alltheyearround. My DH does the cooking at our house too, and I'm very thankful.

Dandy, we've been going to that pick-your-own farm since the kids were little, and we love it. I'm not worried about them closing. The farm is so popular that you have to book online to go, and they have a big community-supported agriculture program that sells their fresh fruit and vegetables.

DH is steaming the lobsters in a huge pot we have for just that purpose.

For the newcomers on the thread, I live in an area of New York called the Hudson Highlands.

Glad your DD is enjoying her honeymoon MissC Farm produce looks great as always.

Hope you are feeling better now Havoc

Just been gardening with DH, did 3 hours together and filled 2nd green bin, planted the RHS plants, and weeded.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/06/2024 03:42

Hi, Penguinsa. Still stuffy, but it feels like it's getting better, thanks. 🤧 Were you gardening late, or just posting late?
Just finished dinner. Cooked Italian sausage in tomato sauce in the oven and served over spiral macaroni. I've got berries, watermelon and nectarine for dessert. Havoc is having a bit of yoghurt right now. I've got The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel on Amazon on tv. Episode 2. So far, so good. 👍

DandyDandylion · 16/06/2024 07:34

@Mumtobabyhavoc i don’t know how old babyhavoc is but with tv I recommend getting them into something you can bear watching whilst you still have control of the remote. For me that was Shaun the sheep. There are tonnes of episodes and if you sit and watch them there are lots of small details to make an adult laugh. The day my dd went to preschool and came home asking to watch in the night garden was a sad day in our house. We still have a retired pony named Iggle Piggle but I hated that program and found it so hard to be in the same room as it back in the day.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/06/2024 23:33

Thanks @DandyDandylion I found that show on YT.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and a relaxing Sunday. Been home all day, grey and a bit rainy, so have been blitzing through laundry while having Netflix running. Baby is having a good long nap, Havoc not so much, so made a bowl of popcorn and Havoc had first taste. Enjoyed playing with it more than anything. ☺️
Do need to get out for a walk, though. Should probably do that before dinner as looks like rain is taking a break.

Deathraystare · 17/06/2024 07:54

Hi All. Hope your Father's Day went well for those who celebrate it.

I went to book club yesterday. Had a great time but a little 'squiffy' on Sangria and Cider. We were so stuffed that no-one and I mean no-one had room for the cheese course! We watched Enola Holmes (on Netflix I think) which was great fun. For anyone who doesn't know it is about Sherlock Holmes' sister. I recommend it! It has Milly Bobby Brown , Henry Cavill (Sherlock) and Helena Bonham Carter (Mum).

We are still discussing going to Greece for a holiday. Not sure if it will come about!

DandyDandylion · 17/06/2024 11:57

Ooh that sounds like an interesting show, would it be suitable for younger teens? I want to watch bridgerton but that is definitely not family viewing. I am having a well earned break half way through mowing the lawn but should get back to it before it rains.
