bizzey · 16/05/2024 01:18

Mam and I did sample a nice bottle of grape juice while I was modeling the jacket !

And dicusing lots of other financial things !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2024 01:28

Miss, getting close to needing a new thread here. 🥰
Bizzey, Always entertaining reading your updates. Maths, hope you had a good Mother's Day. 💐
Penguinsa, quality tv. 👍 😁

Visited neighbour in hospital and took baby which lifted spirits. ☺️

Penguinsa · 16/05/2024 01:30

I've been trying to sort a few financial things too but dealing with very inefficient systems. I am transferring an ISA between providers and applied at start of April, they have written to other organisation 3 times and asked me to phone them and find out issue. I phoned and other company said they did not know how to do a transfer with no account number. Phoned other building society and they said its on the 3 letters but they will send a fourth today. Have also messaged other one.

Then another old pension cannot get set up online it says activate account by answering these questions but no questions appear.

And Student Finance England the parent part if you ever had a student loan (I did in 90s which just put in bank for interest and paid straight back) you have to phone them. 30 mins wait. Then oh I don't know how to do that, shouts in office, and finds someone who does. Name? Whose name, my daughters or mine. Then guy shouts to other guy, whose name. Establish its my name then my d.o.b Fine Then what's your address now? I said that won't be on your records this is a loan from the 90s. Still need your address. Give it. No that's not it you've failed. Can I try another address? No 1 attempt only. Oh how about what was your mobile phone number at some point in the mid 90s but we don't know which. Didn't have a mobile so gave an old number and they said no account is locked as address wrong. Then you need to download the 14 page form instead and do on paper. Bangs head.

That was kind of you Havoc

bizzey · 16/05/2024 01:41

Havoc ...I am a bit low tonight.....but you have lifted my spirits by your kind words 😍

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2024 01:43

Penguinsa, how frustrating! Hope you can get all that sorted.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2024 01:44

Bizzey, sorry to hear that. Come over for tea? Stay for dinner! 🥰

Yes please !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 16/05/2024 05:43

Dinner was a very simple one: scrambled eggs with cream, salmon, rocket and 3 cheeses (cheddar, Gouda and jack). Roasted potatoes on the side. Had a nice walk after dinner and a bit of time at the playground with Havoc.

MissConductUS · 16/05/2024 20:20

Penguinsa, that sounds like a bad dream. I hope you eventually get it sorted.

Havoc, I'm going to start a new thread tomorrow or possibly Saturday morning before we leave for DD's graduation.

The weather forecast for Sunday at DD's uni is looking better - cloudy and moderate temps. I hope it holds between now and then. It's been raining here almost nonstop for the last two weeks, and it's getting tiresome.

I thought the symmetry of the turtle lineup on the log today was interesting. It's like a meetup of two turtle families.

Sorry you were feeling low Bizzey

Lovely dinner Havoc

Love the turtle photo MissC

Today DH got antibiotics for his toe which he dropped a fire extinguisher on 6 months ago which suddenly doubled in size. Started them and hopefully will work soon.

DS has been watching TV at maximum volume, a series of unfortunate events, same episodes on repeat and made himself some drinks and ipadded. DD has been to revise as she has an A level tomorrow, challenging with DSs TV, but tonight we have bought her noise cancelling headphones from Currys which should solve the issue. Its odd he's not had TV on since hospital and even prior to hospital he never had sound now we have really loud sound and TV. But great he is watching TV again and same film he watched pre hospital which is reassuring. He also has put all his rubbish in a basket and put the basket back in the kitchen which is better. DD now having a shower. DD went with DH to Currys and I ordered a takeout pizza from Pizza hut which is DDs favourite (not a huge fan of pizza myself esp chain pizza) and DD had a large veggie pizza, DH and I shared a chicken supreme one (Floof had some chicken from it too) and DS who doesn't like pizza had garlic bread and 1.5 desserts of cookie dough cookie with ice cream, one rolo one and one white chocolate. I had the other half of the white chocolate one but not the ice cream. Having earl grey tea now.

I hoovered all the upstairs, Floof refluffs it at a rapid rate and loves it when I have finished hoovering so he can roll around on his back again paws to all sides and refluff the carpet. Its like painting the forth bridge, it never ends. Moved one bank account that was maturing but no progress today on below ones.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 17/05/2024 17:05

Ouch re the toe Penginsa! Was it an infected cut?
Sounds a bit scary to swell after so long?
Miss, hope the weather is good for you thus weekend. 🤞
lwandered, do you do a lot of gardening?
Bizzey, you doing ok?
Imamum, still good with the nails?

Just waiting for a banana bread to come out of the oven. I added choc chips and pecans.

Penguinsa · 17/05/2024 23:11

Thanks Havoc Banana bread sounds lovely.

DH has antibiotics, not done much so far but only 24 hours of them and they said 48 hours before start working noticeably. They think its infected but just diagnosed over the phone with photos. No cut. Has been gardening but wears shoes so unlikely there and swimming is possible. He feels well but is hobbling and toe looks awful.

DD had her A level exam today and said it was weird but good, previous one she said was good but a couple of weird questions. 🤔She needs 1 A star and 2 As. DS has been watching TV all day, very loud. DD stayed after her exam with her boyfriend at school then they went out to dinner together for a pizza in a pub then he drove her home and came to cuddle Floof.

I did some cleaning, watched a video about pensions. Had a salad for dinner with smoked salmon, coleslaw, baby new potatoes, raddish, baby gem lettuce, egg. Then an earl grey tea with shortbread.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. DDs next exam is Tues then one on Wed then a break for a week and a half.

MissConductUS · 17/05/2024 23:47

I've started the new thread so that I won't be rushing to do it the morning before we leave:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/5077459-come-and-tell-me-your-dull-and-unexciting-news-30-calmly-through-the-day

Penguinsa, with that much inflammation, he may not see that much improvement in 48 hours, even if the ABs are working. I hope your daughter's A level comes out well. I know how stressful it was when our kids were taking their uni entrance exams.

DH and I both took a day of annual leave today to get ready for our trip tomorrow. The lawn finally dried out enough for DH to mow it. It looks lush from all the rain, and my rhododendrons are doing better than I've seen in years. The rest of the flowers have lots of buds.

We're having a cat sitter in tomorrow night and Sunday morning, even though the cats will hide when she gets here.

Penguinsa, it's nice to hear about your ds's change in habits. 👍 I hope exam results are good for your dd. How weird about your dh's the toe! I hope the medication works fast. Your sounds good! 😛😛😛
I've noticed Havoc has two fingers at nails/cuticles that are red and swollen. I saw this yesterday when washing hands and washcloth had a bit of blood on it. I gave the area a squeeze, washed again and soaked with rubbing alcohol. 😖Keeping an eye on it right now. Had a late lunch of prawns, tomatoes, rocket and garlic with cream snd spaghetti.
Baby is 20 weeks. Celebrated with pie and a cookie at Pie Hole.

TheDumpling · 20/05/2024 10:26

My dull and unexciting news for today, but quite funny, well it was to me, was this morning I was about to feed our 3 cold water fish, Nosher Jaws and Fangs, their tank is on my desk in our livingroom, grabbed the tub of Aquarian flakes, the lid came flying off, I accidentally dropped the tub and about 3/4 of the flakes went all over my desk!

I managed to get just about all of it squashed back into the tub!

So that was my bit of excitement for today!

TheDumpling · 20/05/2024 10:28

OMG Mumtobabyhavoc it looks absolutely gorgeous! I bet it was delicious too!

MissConductUS · 20/05/2024 12:54

Welcome, @TheDumpling, and thanks for sharing your calming fish-feeding news. We've all spilled something like that and had to get it back in the container.

Please join us on the new thread.
