Thanks Havoc We also use the term sprinkles as well. I used hundreds and thousands and DD was what are those? Then you mean sprinkles.

Ours used to be a split banana in a long glass dish with 1 scoop chocolate ice cream, 1 vanilla ice cream, 1 strawberry ice cream, then whipped cream (if lucky was whipped by hand otherwise it was spray can stuff) then sprinkles and a wafer. It was my favourite dessert. You could have chocolate sauce on it too.

DH likes to make poire belle-helene though not had that for a while.

I have posted here before. Was when I finally finished my talking therapies and was discharged from care. Though saying that it's not dull news really, whereas my nails are 😂

Well done breaking that habit, @Imamumgetmeoutofhere. I've broken a few bad ones myself, and it's not easy.

We went out for a nice lunch today, and it's been a quiet Mother's Day since. We have a Zoom call coming up with DD at 8:30 tonight. She has a crew race today. It looks like my MIL's funeral will be on June 1st, one week before the wedding. DD will graduate from Uni a week from today, so there's really a lot going on.

Miss, quiet here, too. Hope your dh coped ok. 💐
Slept in until almost 9 and by the time breakfast and cleanup (and other puttering) were done it was nap time for Havoc...
Went to Burnaby Mtn which is where one of our universities is (Simon Fraser U) and hiked around the park.
Dinner was penne with Italian sausage, tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, cream and rocket. Dessert was tuxedo cake.
Temp has dropped to 15c from about 25c and it's breezy. Still warm inside though.

@Imamumgetmeoutofhere Now I remember! How have you been doing? Please feel free to share / join in on convos here. It's quite nice to chat here about the ins and outs of daily life. I'm usually posting my mundane tidbits while bf'ing baby. 😂

Havoc, what a lovely picture. That looks a lot like my area, the Hudson Highlands. What river is that?

My Rhododendrons are flowering nicely for this time of year, and the cactus is starting to wake up and reach for the sun. I'm always surprised at how completely dead they look in the winter, only to rise again. The crane was out in his usual spot this morning. I saw him flying before he perched there. His wingspan is huge.

We had a good Zoom call with DD last night, and mostly talked about wedding things and what she needs to do before going on her honeymoon. It' looks like we have a date for my MIL's funeral. DH is not making the arrangements, his nephew is, so that's nice for DH.

the first one looks west from Burnaby Mtn to the Pacific ocean. The downtown Vancouver core of high-rise are left, the island looking bit adjacent on the right is Stanley Park. Pic two looks to my right and is the North Shore , with West Van at the top and North Van a bit more in the foreground and the mtns are part of the Coast Mtn range.

My pics are of my garden are ...au natural..! 😁

DS had first AS level today - biology, he felt it went ok though some tricky questions.
DS2 was supposed to be cooking tea tonight for us all as DH on call and I was working till 8 but he went to the gym and then fell asleep. When DH got back and woke him up it was too late so we had to have a take away. Most annoying.

Bizzey & Sprouts, thanks for your kind compliments. Bizzey, I love salmon en croute, too. I buy puff pastry and I just wrap the salmon with simple seasoning if I don't feel like any extra effort and roast new potatoes and other veg along side. Easy meal, but feels special.
Sprouts, your Vancouver seems so long ago now! It was epic, though. You sure did a lot! Good luck for your son's exams. Lots of pressure!!! 😬

Bizzey our front lawn looks like yours. I'm trying to turn it into a wildflower meadow - this is year 2. Last year we had nothing except dandelions, now I can see a few bits and bobs coming up. A gardening friend told me that they take 3 years to properly get going.
I hope you've had a better day today than yesterday.

So. I joined a class-action suit for a breach of personal data. The case has been settled! My share is $7.86.

Glad exam went well Sprouts

A levels have started here with first one today but DD said it was good with 2 weird questions. 😂Next on Friday. DS is still banging doors a bit to shut them about once every couple of hours and its annoying for DD but has been calm since the other day when he damaged the boiler and door but then repaired the door - didn't know he did carpentry. And today he made a curtain for the bathroom window, only overlooks our garden.

DS has also taken a TV in the bathroom and has been watching it for first time since hospital and with sound for first time in several years though sound is annoying for DDs studying but we are all so happy its OK and tonight he's watched 3 Netflix programmes. He also took DH in the bathroom to show him he was watching TV and he put his finger over his mouth to tell DH to be quiet unloading the dishwasher as he wanted to watch TV. 😂Cahms call today and they've said they are discharging, they don't do anything really anyway but like being able to phone them and he still has a long way to go. Though they stopped in October and he's so much better after they stopped. Dreading cost of boiler though, it started overheating and think it annoyed him but yikes. He's normally really calm.

My downstairs neighbour is moving out, meaning new downstairs neighbours will move in some time in the next few months. Fingers crossed it will be someone considerate. We all had a bad experience with upstairs neighbours a few years ago, and the landlord was left with $$$$ in repairs to the apartment.

I did a massive sort out of a box of clothes DD had at the back of her closet, and have a few bags to donate to various good causes.

I finally put the winter coats away last weekend and was tempted to retrieve something down-filled today as it was chilly.

That sounds like really good news about DS, Penguins.

Good news about your DS, penguinsa. If your boiler was overheating, it probably needed service. Do you think it might be repairable?

Math, I have to put away the winter coats too.

We now have the final guest count for the wedding. We'll be a bit below the minimum food and beverage charge, so we must decide on some menu enhancements to get us up to that level. DH has been following the wedding planning forum on Reddit and came up with the idea of using one of the services where guests can scan a QR code with their phones and upload the pictures they've taken, so he's set that up. It's nice to have an IT person in the family sometimes.

DD's graduation is this Sunday. We're hoping for no rain, but that's iffy.

Thanks MissC I don't know with the boiler, it was only 2 years old, a very good make and just serviced a couple of months ago, bit puzzling. Good to have numbers for the wedding. Congrats on the graduation to your DD and you and enjoy it.

Just done 2.5 hours gardening with DH and filled the green bin together, robin came and joined us.

DS has been watching more TV and has taken his shoes and my earl grey tea bags!

Was going to post something....but I just saw .2.5 hours of gardening .
....and I now need to sit down and have another cup of tea !!

The funny story is...

A few weeks go I sorted out some clothes for charity.

Mam gave me a bag .

I was suspicious about some items as I knew she really liked them and I really liked them...
1 item in particular.

I took it up to mam's tonight.

She could not recall the jacket I showed her in my arms ..

I tried it on...

Omg !!

She remembered that it didn't fit her well...but not only that ....
It looked really lovely on me 😍 😍!!

I had never even tried it on at my house !

Well .I seem to have a very nice jacket now as well !

I am still recovering Bizzey 😂It was mainly me versus ivy. Some of it loads came off at once and other bits were really difficult to get off. DH was digging the ground. I got DH to rehome all snails that came off with the ivy, some were really tiny.

Floof was microchipped today, DH took him but registered him as my cat, he said as I paid for him. But DH is completely converted and always telling him how much he loves him.

Had a Chinese takeaway and had king prawns with mixed veg and sweet and sour sauce. I also had a glass of coke, then a earl grey tea with 2 lemon curd biscuits and now just a glass of fizzy water and lime juice. Watching Below Deck.
