How old were you when you lost your virginity?

And if you have children old enough, how old were they?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

I am not talking about children. As I said, it IS the responsibility of parents to supervise their children until they are of age.

My parents knew all of those things for both me and my sister.

They also have no idea when either of us became sexually active because it happened after we left home as young adults. If you asked them the question in the OP they would have to answer that they have no idea. Their first documentary evidence of my sexual activity (as distinct from an assumption once I moved in with the fiancé who later became my husband) was their first grandchild!

There are so so many really worrying issues in this thread and I have found it a difficult read, but I have not been left with the impression of large numbers of negligent parents.

If a teen is sleeping around with a bunch of strangers maybe the parents have a right to know. Especially at a young age.

Not the "dirty details" but more so "I'm having my partner over, I'm going to theirs"

There’s a lot of judgemental poster on this thread it’s really quite disturbing to see. I thought we were past the age of judging females on their sexual activities.

I was nearly 19. Many of my peers were 18 + and at Uni.

I was 16 and he's was 30. I gave birth still aged 16, 8 months later.

I think the term “lost virginity” is offensive and misogynistic. I became sexually active, but nothing was lost.

It was around the time of my 15th birthday. I’m in my 40s now and can’t remember if l was 14 or 15 at the time. He was a similar age I was considered to be quite quiet or “bookish”. My hormones were bubbling.

l discovered my bi side in my 30s when l first had sex with another woman.

Looking back on life to date, no regrets.
