How old were you when you lost your virginity?

And if you have children old enough, how old were they?

I keep hearing about how kids are losing their virginity younger and younger now so I was curious to know how old you were, compared to your children.

I was 17. Dh was 13.

DD is 10 and still at the age where anything sexual grosses her out (thank god). They are currently doing sex education at school at the moment and she comes home horrified every time

I was 19 but I was very late in my friendship group. I lied and said I lost my virginity when I was 16 (which was still later than a few friends) because I was embarrassed and felt like I was so far behind them.

I am a 90s baby and was 20 which was very, very old for the terrible area I lived in. At the same age my best friend had been pregnant six tines and given birth to two children. I worked as a TA in the mid 2000s and looked after lots of pregnant girls doing their GCSEs.

DH was born in the 70s and was 21.

13 and I really really wanted to. This idea that it's all older men coercing young women, I mean agree that a child cannot give consent but it's a tad more complex when it's a 13 year old girl tearing the clothes off a 13 year old boy.

  1. My son is almost 17 and I think he might have but not 100% sure. My daughter I almost 13 and quite precocious so I'm a wee bit worried there.

17, which was slightly late amongst my friends, my DC are 10 & 12 so hopefully we have a very long time to go!

  1. I think I was the first in my friend group but not of my peers. I don't regret it, it was with someone I trusted and cared for and I only hope my teenagers when they decide it's time feel the same way.

I'd be horrified about my 15 year old doing it but I think as we get older we just realise we were all literal children doing these things and having our own only highlights how immature we were back then (even though we thought we were mature). The best we can hope for is that they're protected and safe.

Ew, that made me uncomfortable about tearing clothes off as kids 😕

14 although I was sexualised much younger. I was speaking to adult men online when I was 10.

I was 15. My boyfriend at the time was 14. I felt like I was in love with him at the time and we were together for around 8 months. A lot of my peeer group were having sex or at least saying they were so I did kind of feel that peer pressure. But our relationship was sexual and it felt like a natural progression. My eldest is 15 and as far as I know he hasn't. I would like him to wait at least a couple more years. He is more immature and less street wise than I was at his age.

I was 16 and he was 18. We were bf and gf and it felt right. I was quite precocious and I'd say one of the first in my peer group. 13 or 14 is far too young IMO Sad

I don’t know if what happened when I was 16 counts as losing my virginity 😅 from memory he poked the outside and it hurt too much.
After that, my next experience was at 18 so maybe we will go with 18?

18 ,im but some of my friends were 14/15 im 50 so people having sex young has always happened
My son is 17 and hasnt had a girlfriend yet so I assume not .

I was 13. Like a PP, I wanted to and my boyfriend at the time was the same age as me. As an adult looking back, I'm angry with myself for it. I'm also quite angry with my mother for having such lax boundaries in allowing my boyfriend to stay at our house with no adult supervision and access to alcohol. Even after I had to sit with my mum in the chemist getting the morning after pill at 13 I was still allowed to have him stay over at my house.

Needless to say, I won't be allowing my children to have such lax boundaries!!

@Issueatwork omg saaamee!!! I was 14 and it was with my friends step brother and I just wanted to see if it hurt, which it did once in so I told him to stop and then I was 17 and it was proper and I've always wondered which age to class it

16, was with my 17 year old first boyfriend, we were both our firsts.

I would hope DS would at least wait until legal age, he's only 4 so hope I don't have to worry for a long while.
