Just popped in to say hello, we're away again from today until school starts, normally activity will resume then! Here is the link to part 2 of the engagement thread if you haven't found it yet, it's really quite sweet!
www.mumsnet.com/talk/off_the_beaten_track/5142042-i-found-an-engagement-ring-part-2?postsby=ThisMustBeMyDream

Thank you! Reading now.

And so happy you have sent this bout of covid packing @Aria999

WinterLobelia · 22/08/2024 16:33

aaah i am so pleased i had the chance to read that. It was lovely. Thanks

SpiritOfEdna · 22/08/2024 17:54

@SingleThreadJoiner thank you you are an angel ❤️ I finally have closure on the engagement thread 🤣🤣🤣. I even googled but got led to a deleted TAAT message

Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/08/2024 19:29

Thanks, Single, for the link. SoE, I tried finding it without success, too. 🤷‍♀️

SingleThreadJoiner · 22/08/2024 21:15

Glad to be of service 😁 I found it by searching for 'engagement' and it came up in the results!

WinterLobelia · 23/08/2024 06:48

Morning all. Wishing you all a lovely weekend. :) We are away this weekend so I shall send you all best wishes and talk again Tuesday!

Thanks
Mumtobabyhavoc · 25/08/2024 03:56

Got into the harden and pruned the tomato plants and generally cleaned it up. Picked blueberries after.

Daily project Round 5
RunningKatie · 25/08/2024 11:57

Blueberries look good @Mumtobabyhavoc
We're having a lazy Sunday, the dc have had a clear out of dvds and we've traded them in for a new game. Win win, as that's cleared aome shelf space and a new game they want to play together!
I tidied my underwear drawer this week and found a pair of brand new knickers, and threw out some too small and I'll never wear again ones.
Feels like I'm trying to have an end of summer sort out, this afternoon we're gardening and loafing about in the sunshine, assuming we don't get blown away by the winds!
Happy bank holiday weekend to everyone in England.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/08/2024 18:04

Katie, I need to do a clean/tidy like that now, too.
I washed and hung up a load of the dc's clothes and wiped the floor at the entrance and hall. Need a Costco run today. Hoping everyone is enjoying their long weekend. 🤗

WinterLobelia · 28/08/2024 07:48

Those blueberries look delicious!

Back from our trip away. It was fun and ridiculous and the Dcs enjoyed it which is great.

Today I need to tidy as i am having some people over so i also need to prepare some food. Plus pickup some medication for the cat.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/08/2024 14:22

Glad you had a good time, Winter! 😊

Baby is 8 mos today. Going for cake and a walk this afternoon.
Got a load of dc laundry done last night. Need to throw bedding in this morning. Need to catch a couple more hours sleep first. 🥱

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/08/2024 18:07

For those of you wondering if I'm still using my wand vacuum, I am. In fact, my toddler was just using it to help mummy! 😁😁😁

RunningKatie · 28/08/2024 18:09

Gosh, that 8 months has flown by! Enjoy your cake.
Dc2 has done a great job today matching drinks bottles and lids. Now we've ditched some of the rejects, we can even open and close the drawer. Tomorrow we may tackle the lunchbox drawer.
Nearly the end of the holidays here, trying to stretch out the last few days of freedom. And we have yet to brave a shoe shop, wise or foolish move, not sure yet!
Tomorrow we're all off so we're going to the beach, it's just over an hour away, it's not glamorous or cute, but it will be nice to blow the cobwebs away.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 29/08/2024 06:39

Katie, it was earl grey lemon. 😋 Enjoy the beach. 😎

SpiritOfEdna · 29/08/2024 10:14

mumtobabyhavoc 8 months! my that has flown!
Back from a nice BH break - in between dodging rain we managed to get out and about and I really enjoyed the stand up paddle boarding - got tipped into the lake a few times which was a bit cold!
Today's job:

  • finish unpacking the case
  • builder due this afternoon to do re-pointing of the chimney pot - it has been many times and many days so am fully expecting a change!
  • bikes back outside
  • the floors are so dusty and grass seedy, so will need to brush/hoover/clean
  • having noticed the dust on the floors I've just noticed the grime everywhere else - skirting boards, windows, fireplace but I'll save them for a blitz over the weekend
  • need to organise a boiler service and gas check for the fire and still need to sort out a replacement hob.
That's all for now, have a good day all, SoE
WinterLobelia · 29/08/2024 11:12

8 months!!!! Gosh. I recall when we were anxiously waiting for the birth @Mumtobabyhavoc ! How wonderful. I wish I were back in the early days. Mine are teenaging hard. Hmm

@SpiritOfEdna I mis-read your list as 're-painting the chimney pot' and was in awe of such a thing. Grin

I had friends around yesterday and am rather- sluggish- today. Our wonderful cleaner has come and the house was in good nick because I had cleaned it before friends came. I have a few bits of online work I need to complete for a little side hustle i started (just writing minutes for recorded AGMs- nothing too challenging but designed to prop up my holiday account) and the big plan is to spend time outside in the sun.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 30/08/2024 18:51

Happy Friday! ☀️
Sunndy day here and am about to head out to party supply to peruse items for Havoc's upcoming birthday. Surprisingly, I cam't find everything I want on Amazon...🤷‍♀️ Although, I have considered I am overthinking.

Was up nursing baby at 3:45 and have been awake since. Tried for an hour to get a very playful baby to understand it was still sleepytime to no avail. Havoc then woke up and I was in a losing battle with two jumping and laughing dc. Now, three lattes later (me, lol), dc are fed and napping (finally). I've got a load of whites in a hot bleach wash, have cleaned 4/5 of the bathroom (all but tub) and am planning my escape. 😁

WinterLobelia · 31/08/2024 07:36

Morning!

Happy weekend! Hope you got some sleep @Mumtobabyhavoc

Not much on today. Swimming with Dcs. Regular housework. Some ironing. Out with a friend. Ds1 is starting to get some serious wobbles about going back to school on Wednesday and that's taking quite a bit of emotional management.

I hope all are well!

WinterLobelia · 31/08/2024 07:39

Oooh! We are only 7 posts away from needing a new thread!

Dear @FrostyFogg started Round 5. @Mumtobabyhavoc do you want to start the next one?💝I hope we can keep the momentum going!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 31/08/2024 07:58

Erm...me? 😳

Mumtobabyhavoc · 31/08/2024 08:05

Realized with only a few spots left there's no room for debate. 🤷‍♀️

All welcome. Sorry for those I've missed! 😊

Mumtobabyhavoc · 31/08/2024 08:12

As you can see, still up going on 21 hours here... 🤦‍♀️

RunningKatie · 31/08/2024 08:12

Hope that the return to schools wobbles are smoothed out @WinterLobelia
Dc1 has struggled every new year since reception, covid didn't help but we're going into Y9 and I'm anxiously checking for signs. They've seen no friends this summer, which is apparently typical teenager but so far removed from my teenage years.
Off to the cinema later, so the sun is shining away here already! Happy Saturday all.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 31/08/2024 08:14

Just trying to fill the thread...😂

Did two loads of laundry after dinner. All hung up. Made brownies as well after dinner raiding the baking cupboard. Added white choc and dark choc chips, mini m&m's and mini marshmallows.

Peridot1 · 31/08/2024 08:52

Hello all! Glad I managed to get back to the thread before it closes!

Ive been AWOL for a couple of weeks as had my best friend here from Australia which was lovely. Am shattered now though! We did lots of nice things (including a lovely catch up dinner with her ex husband, seeing Hamilton and I took her to Costco as she had never been to one!) and lots of walking and eating and drinking.

The work that was being done on the house - building display units for our dining area - is in the same state it was two weeks ago which is annoying but fingers crossed it should be finished this week. We are also having a tall narrow cupboard built for the utility room to house large kitchen appliances so I need to clear out the corner that is going into. Which means removing the coat rack on the wall and giving that corner a good clean.

I feel in a state of flux as can’t really do anything major until units are built.

So today I will do a load of washing, strip guest bed and then go to a village bbq for the afternoon. Planning a lazy weekend otherwise. Before trying to get back to doing lists and getting stuff done.
