Welcome to all regulars, lurkers, and new contributors! Everyone is welcome to join.

A quiet day today - we don't actually celebrate Christmas so Xmas and Boxing dat were very quiet but other than today and, funnily enough, NYE, we have quite a lot of plans in the next week. Dropped son off at a synagogue camp for 3 nights, I let him pack himself - he is 12 but has ADHD, but I figured as stake were low, I'd let him do it himself with minimal interference; I had a quick look and he definitely had at least some changes of clothes and some underpants and also pyjamas, so I'm calling that good enough.

Friends coming for tea tomorrow, so I have bought ingredients to make an Oreo cheesecake in the morning.

Deathray my husband does all of the driving - I can drive, but I'm not confident in busy places, so am happy to be the passenger/navigator.

We have had a lovely time re-grouping as our little group of 4 !!

Lots of food, drinks, TV ,board games giggles and laughs 😋😀!

I am so lucky that the boys all get on well together...and with me as well !

Place is an absolute tip.ha ha !

But I think I have the whole house to myself in Sunday so I can blitz it then .

It actually worked out really well that DS came back later than planned as we were not under any time constraints to do things ....and just had allllll day to open presents, eat food and play games on the Wednesday....and today!

Still a lot more to read and comment on....but I think I need an " early night" !!

After two and a half years of using a terrible cooker, we have a new one coming on Thursday. A range.

I can't bring myself to get excited about another ceramic hob, but hoping the hob has more oomph than the old one.

Forgot to add ..my Christmas Present from ds 1 !! 😀😅🤣🤣🤣!

Today is my first quiet day since breaking up from school. Have a neighbour’s daughter here as she is working, need to do a food shop and laundry but will otherwise be very lazy!

Thinking of you Havoc and hope all is safe and well with you and your new baby.

DD has gone out for the day as has DH so just DS and I, Floof and the silkies. I woke to an e-mail from endocrinology asking for yet more tests, I may not have been best pleased about that.

So far I have eaten a yoghurt (vanilla) and drank 2 cups of tea with milk and now drinking water and lemon juice. Floof is trying to persuade me to play.

Welcome, @KievLoverTwo, and thanks for sharing your kitchen appliance news. There was a discussion of oookers, hobs and stoves earlier in the thread. I hope your new one is an improvement.

Cold and rainy here still. I'm just taking a break from the stationary bike. DD's wedding shoe quest may be over. She's ordered a pair from etsy.com. They are returnable if they don't fit or she doesn't like them when she sees them.

I had forgotten how soft babies are and their little heads like velvet. 🥰
Still coughing which is quite painful on abdomen. Ugggghhhh.😢
Private room was deemed medically necessary due to me being sick, so it won't go through my extended health plan (extra coverage that you buy privately) and I won't have a co- pay. 👏
I have a sweet little 7-pounder on my chest fast asleep, so will say Goodbye for now.

I had such fin in the launderette today. 3 machines full. One of them looked still soapy at the end but did not trust my eyesight. Thought it might have been the design on my clothes! I opened up the door and there was a tsunami!! Luckily the guy was ok about it as he washed and dried the floor again! He got it working again. I had fully intended to bring him a bar of Chocolate for Christmas cos I know he likes the Lindt one., The nearest shop sold only the darkest Lindt so had to get Cadburys fruit and nut instead. Still, he seemed pleased.

Haven't opened my friend's card yet but apparently she sent me a toilet key (I am a slave to my bladder). I thought she meant it was in my birthday card but it seems it is in an unopened Christmas card. My Brother and Sil send me a Boots voucher for my birthday which is great as I spend a small fortune in both Boots and Superdrug. I rarely spend less than £30 in them. Embarrassing. I only go in for emergency incontinence pants and pads (I normally order from Amazon), and of course I then buy eyeliner pencils, mascara and lipsticks etc etc.

I found Christmas tv very boring and weirdly realised that stuff I watched just before Christmas was on again! Planes, trains and automobiles which I watched before Christmas was on again! So was the House of Gucci - mind you, I slept through that and did not bother re-watching. There was a lot of stuff from years ago but in the end I watched about 4 things and listened on the radio to two things. Mind you, with me working all over Christmas I wasn't there all the time but I really don't think I missed anything. Traditionally, I buy the Christmas Radio Times as I can see what is on the radio as well as the tv and wondered why I bothered. Still I got some reading done!

Awaiting paperwork and will slowly get my things together. (Emphasis on "slowly". Belly is very tender from incision/coughing.)
Good news also that my cold is improving. 👏
