Havoc, if you BP is up the edema is not that unusual, so it may not be a big deal. Have you let your Obgyn know about viral symptoms?

DD took DS to the train station for his trip to Washington and is now shoe shopping online. I'm doing laundry, sorting Christmas presents, and may try to assemble the gaming chair DS received as one of his presents.

MissC your cat is a total cutie 😻

Death although my situation is different from yours I was reading some of the "awful Christmas" threads and counting my blessings too.

Your poor ankles/feet Havoc. Hope you can still fit them into shoes and don't end up having to go to the hospital in just your socks! You must be so tired and what with being pregnant can't take anything to suppress the cough and allow you some sleep, you have my sympathies.

Praise from fussy DC is the best compliment Bizzey! 😁

I spent last night clearing up and getting some alone time then fell into bed at 9am and slept all day until dark. A bit weird of me but I blame hormones, it's that time of the month. I've really enjoyed Christmas this year though.

MrsFloof · 26/12/2023 19:20

Had a lovely Boxing Day seeing the seals and seal pups at Horsey. We went boxing day last year as well when DS was in hospital.

Wishing you all the best for the birth Havoc and hope you symptoms improve.

Going to have a turkey and veg curry.

OMG MrsFloof ..I am a lazy little toe rag ..but that would definitely be a walk I would want to do !!

MrsFloof · 26/12/2023 21:22

😂Thanks Bizzey I am also not keen on walking so it has to be something very special to get me out walking though this is and car park is right below the beach. There's about a mile of seals on the beach.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 26/12/2023 23:47

Keep losing my replies as keep accidentally touching wrong areas of screen.
briefly: Silkie, nice pics
Mallards, you needed the sleep
Bizzey, hope 2nd xmas went well
Death, stop by for left-overs 😛
Miss, yes, OB knows. Saw her last week.
I'm not chancing scrolling up again to re-read other posts to comment on and risk losing this...

watching Love Actually and looking at my elephant feet/ankles. 😂 Scared to taked compression socks off!!! 😂😂😂
Havoc is napping.

Had duck with cranberry sauce on baguette which I warmed in microwave and it was 😛😛😛😛. Then a slice of warm gingerbread cake with a bit of vanilla ice cream.
Heartburn now. 🤦‍♀️

Was a fairly decent day even though I didn't go outside. Looks like rain is coming overnight. At least it has warmed up. It's now about 9c.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 27/12/2023 00:22

Now going to make a quiche. Some for today and tomorrow. The rest in the freezer for easy meals when I get home. 💡
Crab, asparagus, spinach, green onion, tomatoes, 4 cheeses (cheddar, Swiss, Monterey Jack, Gruyere), eggs and whipping cream. Just waiting for dough to be pliable as was in the fridge.

MallardsMoorhensAndLethe · 27/12/2023 03:24

OMGFloof that's amazing, were you able to get real close or did you zoom in?

Looks lovely Havoc. I'm craving healthy food after all the Christmas junk food. I've been watching Love Actually too!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 27/12/2023 03:56

Mallards, there's a few parts that could be left out, but overall a good film not to be taken too seriously. 😄

MrsFloof · 27/12/2023 11:05

Lovely food Havoc

Thanks Mallards You walk on a higher part and the seals are usually on the beach so maybe 5 to 10 metres away but below you, occasionally they come up. The last picture with the grasses is the most like it is, some pictures are zoomed in a bit. You aren't supposed to go right up to the animals so you don't scare them. They are so lovely.

Deathraystare · 27/12/2023 15:39

@MrsFloof

Are you sure those are seals and not people lazing around after their Christmas indulgencies???!!

@Mumtobabyhavoc

Ooh an invite! I will be there in a jiffy if there is anything left!! Better be some quiche left. Long way to go if you have eaten it all!

I don't have anything festive in my fridge and share a fridge so cannot get too much in but I have been lusting for brandy snaps and spray cream!! I might also hunt down some pickled walnuts to go with my cheese! I normally do buy some for Christmas time.

@MallardsMoorhensAndLethe

Yeah strange time of year......

MissConductUS · 27/12/2023 16:54

Mallards, he is a handsome boy, to be sure.

Havoc, I don't know where you find the time and energy to make such lovely meals while pregnant and caring for a little one. I let DH do the cooking when I was pregnant.

Lovely seal and shore pictures, MrsFloof. I didn't realize you were in Norfolk.

It's a bit cold and rainy here. DD has taken the train into NYC again to shop for wedding bands. I'm still working through the post-Christmas clutter. I'm going to watch some Foyle's War on Acorn and possibly have a nap later.

OP posts:
MrsFloof · 27/12/2023 20:30

One of them in particular did look like someone lazing around after Christmas dinner Death too tired to parent their 2 babies. 😂

Hope your DD has a good visit MissC We just drove to Norfolk and back for the seals / seal pups. We might go again on New Year's Day as there are fireworks on the beach in Cromer that day though currently predicting rain.

Just went swimming, jacuzzi and steam room then made a big black sack of Christmas rubbish from DS's stuff though generally we are quite tidy and decluttered at the moment. Apart from DDs room.

Having bubble and squeak for dinner with the Christmas veg and potatoes. Had a Christmas sandwich for lunch with the turkey and the coleslaw. DD said that my veg from Christmas are taking up the whole fridge. DH pointed out she has taken over all of the upstairs fridge and half of the downstairs fridge and the veg are for everyone. DD then said in the downstairs fridge she just has 1 meal and 5 sauces but admitted the whole upstairs fridge was hers. 😂The fridges are the same size.

IWanderedLonely · 27/12/2023 20:41

We're away in the campervan for a couple of days. Exhausted after the run up and Christmas Day and sooo happy to have nobody mithering me.

HelenaJustina · 27/12/2023 21:52

Merry Christmas all!

Brontosaurus · 27/12/2023 22:16

Belated Merry Christmas all. Glad to hear about all your lovely festive days.

Today's jobs have all involved trying to find room for DD's new toys and decluttering. I've managed to find room for most things I think. It'll be better when we take the Christmas tree down as then we'll have a free corner for her new play kitchen.

It's been raining and blowing a hooley here all day and a bit of the bamboo roll we have pinned to our garden fence has blown down, so that'll be a job for tomorrow.

I'm feeling tired and grumpy so I'm going to eat some profiteroles and then go to bed.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 28/12/2023 09:55

Quick hello and chat soon!
Just got into bed and have compression cuffs on. Legs so swollen could barely get compression socks on! 😫
Havoc would not go to sleep all evening. Likely due to me puttering/packing and Havoc figuring something was up. Is now finally asleep cuddled beside me. 😅🥰
Foetal monitoring today went well! 😀
Just got text from health ministry that the covid test done on me at hospital today is negative. 👏
(keeping in mind I had tested daily from last Wednesday to Sunday... and negative each time.) 🤷‍♀️
Had pre-surgical labs re-done as well as one test result had expired.
So, everything is in order.
Surgery at just after 10:00, so in just over 8 hrs from now. 😬
It will be nice to not have a foot lodged into my ribs... 😂

Hoping everyone is having a good day!
Thanks again for the kind words you've all sent my way. 🩷🩷🩷

MrsFloof · 28/12/2023 10:40

Hope all goes smoothly for the birth today Havoc how exciting and hope your legs returns to normal shortly.

Enjoy the rest of the festive period everyone. DH will go to France for about 48 hours to see his Mum, BIL, SIL, niece and aunt and maybe a few friends and I am staying with DD and DS.

MrsFloof · 28/12/2023 10:41

Strong winds here today, well 40 something mph so not doing damage but noisy and glad to be inside and warm.

MissConductUS · 28/12/2023 11:54

Good luck today, Havoc!

DD found a wedding band she liked in the city yesterday, so she put down a deposit on it. It's platinum with small diamonds. She's still on a shoe quest.

OP posts:
MrsFloof · 28/12/2023 12:20

That's great your DD found a wedding band, I think we call them wedding rings, we have engagement ring and wedding ring.

MissConductUS · 28/12/2023 12:33

They're called engagement rings here, too, because they are a band and a stone. The wedding ring can be called a band (if it's simply a metal band) or a ring. I guess what DD picked out yesterday is a ring since it has stones.

OP posts:
MrsFloof · 28/12/2023 12:38

That's interesting, ours are rings either way.

Deathraystare · 28/12/2023 14:04

Good luck indeed @Mumtobabyhavoc!

@IWanderedLonely

Jealous of your campervan! Mind you I cannot drive...

HelenaJustina · 28/12/2023 18:25

Happy birthing vibes Havoc hope all goes super smoothly!
